Help with elite clones!!

SO i recently received some clones that i want to ensure root successfully! I have LVPK, Fire OG, SFV OG, and Cherry Pie.

My clones were shipped to me so there was a 24hr period that they were not in the cloner. They were cut, wrapped in a wet paper towel and stuck in bags for transport. now that i have them at my place, i recut the stem under water then dipped in clonex and placed all of them in my EZ-cloner.

I just bought my EZ cloner so i am new to its use, but im under the impression it pretty much does everything for you.

in the cloning res. i have a small mixed in "Clear rez" that they provide as well as a small amount of Clonex hydro formula.

the clones have been in since, Weds. initially they were slightly droppy/wrinkly on the leaves....prob. due to shipping packaging. as of now they are all fairly erect (not all the clones were taken from the top, so the stems are not all straight in turgid conditions. but i have noticed that some of the leaves have been curling upward, semi taco like. this is the only issue i have come across and want to make sure it wont impede on them rooting. Should i be worried or should i correct something? maybe drain the water and refill it?

the EZ cloner is on a 15 min on 15 min off interval to keep res. temps lower. (they are around 82 degrees). Lighting consists of 4 bathroom light CFLs about 3 feet above.

ANY help would be appreciated!

Also if it helps, i had 2 previous clones in there before the elites came in, they were placed in 7 days ago and although they look PERFECTLY healthy, erect with perfect leaf appearance, they havent shown any roots yet.

If pictures are necessary ill take them and post them up!

but for now, here are pictures from previous when they were first placed in.

It appears that my 1st two original unknown clones are just now forming those white structures around the stem tip, the early formation of roots...so maybe the others will be okay?

dude you're over thinking it
yes the ez cloner pretty much does it all, you still have to put the clones in... lol

your ok, it has only been a few days, wait til next wednesday at the least for roots

your receipe sounds fine... that unit really is top of the line

only thing i could say is make sure the light is not to close and you're all good, i keep my light about 15-18'' away, florescents, energy eff bulb... whatever that's the usual distance for moi

Taco leaf might be from humidity issue or to much wind/air circulation. The plant is doing that to keep from desiccating or you have a deficiency though that would be odd since you don't have much uptake into the plant yet due to lack of roots

to me 15 on and 15 off will kill your clones... use a 4min off 1 min on timer instead.

the ambient temps in your room with the e z cloner need to be between 65-70 also.

Clones arent dead, those pictures were when they were first place in after transit...they have since perked up. I dont have a humidity dome on for the reason that EZ cloner doesnt make one or "need" one as i was told. i dont think my timer will allow 4min off 1 min on. it goes in 15 min intervals. I read on here, other guys using that time interval as well as my hydro store owner recommending it.

Great thread... can't clone, talking about shipping cuts, describing how they're packaged... it's the amateur hour with "elite clones".

they weren't shipped...they were packaged and driven by myself and that was not the objective of this thread. this was posted in the infirmary because i dont want them lost. Not because im an attention whore. Yes, im still semi-new with cloning..especially aero cloning, these forums are all about helping and learning. check my signature if you wanna see my growing conditions. the information about how they were transported was only included because it explains why in the beginning of those pictures the leaves were so "wrinkled" ...other wise people aren't going to be able to fully help properly.

If you have no means of helping me and only are drawing attention to unimportant matters, and trolling my thread, then GTFO.

Look dude, I got no problem with you so don't get butt hurt over my post. Your original post is worded clumsily, at best. Instead of acknowledging that, you lie. Lame.

All the same, you could've said "Hey, I got some cuts, kinda in rough shape from transit, and I'm doing my first run with an EZ cloner. Any suggestions?"

And because I do enjoy helping other growers when I can, I'll add: keep your pH in check, monitor temps closely -- 82 degree water is too warm, keep pump on timer (15/15 isn't ideal, IMO) and use low or indirect lighting.

does the ez cloner have a temperature or does the pump keep the water warm

in my bubbler I put a heat mat under to keep the tub of water warm

but otherwise just root em in the furnace room cuz it's the warmest spot in my house,

I don't mist them but you might try it

15 mins off is risky if a fan is blowing or the light is too strong and too close.
if the res. is big enough i would leave it on and check the water temp every now and again.
they look good and if they survived the first couple of days, they should be fine.
best of luck

You make a good point, I can respect that. Thanks for your post, much more helpful then the original. can you direct me to where i can find a timer that will allow tighter interval spacings? Thanks!

As for temp. with the pump on 24hrs it was ranging around 86 degrees F and 15/15 around 82-84. is this too warm? there is no direct fan blowing on them. room temp is around 72-74 degrees.

so should i just take it off the timer for now? the clones i took of my unknown are just now showing signs of early root formation and they are 3 days older.

I really appreciate all of your help!:tiphat:

those temps shouldnot be too high
give it a try and keep on eye on them
you may want to freeze a bottle of water and place it in the rez when it gets too hot

Yeah they don't look so great perhaps back off on the light. I had some very elite clones that liked diffused light and I didn't find that out till it was too late. peace out Headband707
