Almoooooooooost done. Getting really down to it now. This is #3, 69 days in and coloring up nicely. The trichs are basically all cloudy now, with some ambers here and there. I think 70 is a good time to bring her down, which means tomorrow is chop day! :dance013:

The tall shot is from a ~week ago. She's really yellowing/crisping out on the fans now with the flush happening - which is what's going on in the wide one. (That's a couple of days old as well.) She's also getting purple - and smelling excellent!

They really are... well above average on the girth tip. The smells are the same and yet they aren't. #7, the short 'DJ-smelling' one, still smells like that. Familiar notes from F13 and Flo specimens I've grown over the years. #s 3 and 4 are continually 'complexifying' their odors - what began as pretty nondescript sweet smells have become distinct and somewhat astringent.

And the tester nugs I've cut reveal herb that is above average as well. I'm really looking forward to the next step of the process. :smoke:

In other news, I've decided not to chop #3 today. I think she could use a few more days, so she gets them.

Very nice looking budshots, congrat's Strainbrain :)
And about chopping #3, looking a the pics, I agree with you she'd deserve a few more days.

Enjoy your smoke!

One down!

One down!

Thanks, rhaco. :smoke:

I ended up taking her yesterday @ 76. Most of the fans had crisped off and died, the trichs were all cloudy with a bit of amber here and there, and she'd stopped drinking. I think we can call this pheno a 10-12 weeker, depending on your specific grow conditions and taste in trichs.

The end result was a very thick plant. I expect above-average yields. (Under my 250, in a 3.4L pot I average about 30-35g per plant depending on strain. My record is 53g.) The colors are lovely, lots of purple flowers. Resin level is good, not the best I've grown but completely respectable. The smell is mildly-citrusy, fresh, hashy.

You can really see the 'light-line' on the cola shot - the top ~1" was up above the hood and never turned purple.

I have finally taken all 3 of these down. The longest went 80 days, and that was #7. She's still hanging, getting smellier and smellier. She has a skunkiness to her for sure, but I recognize it as the kind of 'under-the-radar' skunkiness that my BBxF13 and straight F13 both had. It also has the fresh-earthiness that to me characterizes the F13. Definitely the highest-odor pheno of the three as well as the best-smelling.

Here's her pre-chop photo session:

I think it's safe to say that this cross is going to come in at the 10-12 week mark. In exchange for the long-ish flowering time, however, the yields are respectable. Pheno #3 won that battle with 50g dry. #4 was close behind at 47. #7 is much smaller, but very dense. We'll see how she comes out. [edit: 36g. Plump, but small. Still above-average under my 250, though!]

I do have pics of #4's chop-day to post along with some preliminary smoke reports. Stay tuned! :tiphat:

Thank you! His C99 stock is great, I ran a pack of Tsi Fly a while back and kept one for a while. Some of the frostiest herb I've ever grown. I let it go, but only because I have another pack to run. :smoke:

Going to try to get pics of the 3rd one up today and start wrapping this grow up. I'll do smoke reports and a 'final perspective' before I wrap it up, though. This cross is superb, and deserves to make the finish line.

At long last, here's the skinny on #4. This one did not clone, so I don't have a mom - but it also made a couple of late male flowers, so I wouldn't have wanted to keep it anyway. (The other two did not have a single male flower between them.) Her odor level was mid-way between #3 (low) and #7 (double-check your carbon.) She ended up going 78 days - which was about 10 days longer than her fan leaves lasted. :smoke:

She came in heavy as previously mentioned - dense 'fingerlings' of bud all up and down a long cylindrical cola amounting to 47g dry. The smoke is good, very body-stony with a good head component. However the body component is not as good as #3, and the heady component is miles behind #7. It's an balanced mix of the two effects, but it amounts to the least-interesting experience of the three. A third strike - and she's out.

Thanks, guys!

These ladies were of varied height - #3 was the tallest and made it about 2" above my light. #4 was a little shorter, and was just barely beneath the glass of the hood. #7 was misidentified as MALE early on, did not get uppotted, and was stunted in veg. When I found out she was a female - much to my surprise at the time - I brought her to a large pot and flipped her too quickly. She only ended up about 2.5-feet tall.

(My light's about 4 feet from the ground level in the tent, for scale.)

They sure do. I recognized almost nothing from the Sour Bubble I've grown, and no smells that made me think of skunk except for #7, and only in the final week or two. It's cured out by now, too.

The smoke is excellent. #3 is one of the mellowest plants I've ever tried. The high creeps in slowly and runs really deep - smoke enough and it gets almost psychedelic. It's excellent for pain and nausea according to several reports. There's no anxiety or paranoia at all. Good sleepytime weed. Keeper for sure.

#7 was straight fire coming off the plant, but it's one of those herbs that seems to degrade with a cure. It's lost its skunky edge in favor of a deep floral/fruit/leather kinda thing. Still the most-stinky of the trio, but not quite what it was on choppy-chop day. Potency is excellent, but it's lost its surging head and is a more balanced smoke. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but there's stiff competition in my stable and this one's not a world-beater. Haven't culled her yet, though. :smoke:
