Cab of DOOM!

well everything is now moved into the new cab, and it actually runs cooler than i thought, currently its running at only 1-2 degrees Celsius hotter in the veg chamber than ambient.

Also a second cab is currently being built, with some tweaks, which include bigger air paths a bit bigger platforms, and a few other things.

Im actually playing a risky game right now as i have a male that i wouldn't mind collecting pollen from as hes looking quite good and has only been in there two weeks, but hes in the cab along side some flowering girls, hes producing balls left, right, and center, quite a few are full size but are not ripe, i would say he will be able to bust a nut in couple days at the soonest.

So i need to get the other cab up and running, i will probably have it ready by tomorrow, i could use the old cab, but i have already retired it even if its currently just taking up space till i can find either a home for it or dismantle it.

And away we go, the new cab is up and running, still need to finish the carbon filters for both (haven't order any carbon yet), and i have to replace the one veg timer, as it seems to be faulty.

But first we have the smaller cab, currently it only has 4 seedlings in it and one male, lucky i separated him from the girls yesterday and he busted some nuts last night, so for now hes gonna be the only one in the flower chamber in that cab, till i collect some pollen and possibly chop him and throw him back in veg, he looks like a decent sativa leaning male, not exceptional, but decent, so we will see.




this is the latest cab it has a few tweaks compared to the smaller one, first i increased the size slightly, and gave it 13x13 platforms instead of 12x12 in the smaller cab, that plus i increased all the air paths by 1/2" in height/width, and increased the holes accordingly which i made rectangular instead of circular just to limit reflected light, and so air has a smoother path to travel. So inside dimensions on this cab is 13"x16" wide, and air flows alot more freely. Also the veg chamber is running two 13w cfl's in the back corners instead of one 23w cfl, i find having two bulbs to be more beneficial, plus with them being tucked back in the corners it allows the plants to completely fill the veg chamber without getting burnt on the light, as i put the youngest clones, or smallest plants right under the lights.

Also after running the one cab for a bit, the white paint i used (low pigment) wasn't as good as it could be so i decided to just put some reflectix in both cabs, as i had some leftover from the old cab, its perceived brightness is Alot better now.

As for plants, currently its full in the flower chamber, two plants will be chopped possibly this weekend or next, then i have one 4 week old clone, a 2week old seedling, and 3 bran new F clones, with a seedling, that is quite dense for being in a round 2.5" diy smart pot for the last while, im expecting it to go crazy now that its in more soil volume.

As for the veg chamber i just transplanted some rooted clones, and they will be getting at least 1-2weeks veg time before going to flower, some of the clones look a little weak, normally i take more clones than i need, and toss the weak looking ones, but ill veg all the ones i have as ill be probably giving a couple of them away.

But once im done collecting pollen the seedlings will be transferred to the other cab, the plan being that bigger cab will be for running through clones for bud to smoke, where as the other cab will be for breeding, and running through seedlings. I will probably rebuild the smaller one eventually to be the same as the other cab, but for now im gonna run them as is.

As for power consumption when both cabs are fully on they are consuming 160-164w combined, so they are consuming less than the old cab. But ill get a total kWh figure after i average it over a week

per request, here is a current shot of the larger cab, hard to tell when taking a picture of a light, but the plants are doing pretty well, 3 of the plants (ones on the right) should be done in a week to possibly two, and the three in the back corner that you can see, should be done in another 4 weeks, but by looking at them you would expect 2weeks.

With this cab ideally i would like to achieve 130g dry per 60days, as the bigger box consumes 130kwh over 60days.

I have been consistently getting 10g a plant with the other containers i was using, but would need to get 16.25grams per plant to hit my target, which i think is doable with a more dialed grow, mine are doing pretty decent at the moment but i dont expect them to hit my goal.

been busy and felt no need to update this, but figured why not when i was in the cab today so here's a pic of the bigger cab (the smaller cab i retired), but this one i did a couple of modifications too, the plants enjoy the extra light and breeze caused by the circulation fan, also i can fit another 4" pot in their now. Soon to be going back to 3" pots. But right now its just full of less than ideal refugees from the other cab, or stumps that are just in there to further ripen some seeds i made on the lover limbs.

Here a bud shot of my mjb strain (own strain) it should yield 10-11g dry out of a 1 liter pot.

Would you believe me if i said i made a new box, yes another one . The old one the one in this thread worked great, and the results were pretty damn good, and i would have got it more dialed, But i scavenged this box to make a new one.

I wanted a more realistic long term supply, and something a bit stealthier which for me actually meant going to a smaller box with how much i smoke, as i ended up giving alot of what i made away as i would grow way more that i needed with smoking maybe one a week, But the new one isnt vertical "yet", might be after tweaks, and was designed that way, but its smaller 11x21x36" tall and has both a veg and flower chamber, and built in removable drying racks.

I could possibly share the new one, i wasn't planning on it till i got a couple runs done which i haven't been doing, but the old cab of doom doesn't exist anymore.

How much were you producing in cab of doom?

Would love to know how you did the ventilation and odor control.
