White paint works great. I just switched to reflectix which is like mylar backed bubble wrap. My room is definitely brighter now.

Mylar!

Mylar!

I've heard mirrors can create hot spots. White paint is also good, but I read somewhere that mylar reflects the highest percentage of light.

Flat white paint is the best for a grow room, it reflects extremely well and doesn't create hot spots, which both mirrors or mylar will do. Like ddrew said, Panda Film is a great thing, it's usually black on one side, white on the other and light tight, meaning no light leaks through it. I believe they actually make an all white version of Panda Film also.

Don't use Mirrors be burning shit in no time... Mylar works but pain the ass to put up...
FLAT White paint is best or Black and White poly works but Paint is more reflective...

mylar is the best option.. It never creates hot spots and has the highest reflective percentage like 97% or something, but if you do get it. get the 2 mm thick because 1mm thick mylar is a pain in the ass to put up. like super super flimsy wall paper that smudges and tears.

I'm with OhighO on this one.

I have a hundred foot by eighteen inch roll of 1/4" bubble wrap with mylar on both sides. Here is why I use it.

I have a five side house, no square corners. Budroom is 5 x 9 x 7 x 4 x 6. Squeezed tight in the center is a hexagram of 6 HID's 30" apart with a CMH in the center, I like symmetry.

I hung hooks 6" outside the long axis and hung curtain rods from them.

I cut the reflectix into 42" lengths and clipped them to the curtain rods. They fit edge to edge perfectly and now there is an 18" reflective ring around the lights above the tables. The reflectix is stiff enough to swing out of the way, no tangle, no sticking, no tearing, it is tough.

But... always something. The very bottom of the plants still got no direct reflection.
I cut another six pieces and clipped them on, even doubled it will swing up and away, this stuff is tough. I go in stoned just to look at the plants at times. I will sway a little and grab at the hangings, everything rattles and shadows jump and I let go and it all stops and gets normal again. Did I mention this stuff is tough?

If the room available does not fit the grow wanted then a roll of reflectix and a pocketknife will build a custom inside growtent. Clothespins work as connectors but won't hold you up.
