Like a lot of you guys n girls i go and spend my hard earned cash on growing supplys and seeds.

Coco ,hydroton ,nutes and seeds the cost all adds up and it's a pretty penny if you are new to the scene and want to start up.

So my intention is to start up a website called growcompare.com..
Once i get the site setup ( this is the part i need help with ) i plan on listing the prices of every grow related item these rip-off merchants sell.

Here's a good example, a roll of the plastic backed mylar will cost me £247.00 over the internet per 100m roll , yet Nirvana grow shops sell the same thing @ 10 euro per meter.
The hemporium chain sells the same mylar at and after some arguing 8 euro per meter .

The mark up is huge on things like this if you pay the grow shop prices.

So guys n girls help me to help you save money and take the money from the pockets of these vendors who knowingly overcharge us for the most basic of materials.

So here's what i need you guys to do...i need a techy to help me set up a website and i need you guys to remember the prices of growing supplys and pm me with the name of the shop/chain and the price.

It;s that simple...

Together we can force down the prices, it's a small country where in this particular market there is no competition...so together let us vote with our feet and reward the shops that have the best prices and customer service.

I think my goal is achievable and not without merit or reason so ic'ers help me make a change there is a recession on after all.

PM or public forum post the prices of the gear you buy and where what i'm after is a name and shame campaign.

I hope you guys can help me out as it's going to be a costly hard slug to go it alone.

i shop with star fish supplies on fleebay.
small shop in wales.20 quid delivery,max 20 kilos,
cant go wrong in my opinion..

Well if you do it by yourself it's way too much effort, but if you think about it, here on ic there's ppl from everywhere and i think you might find ppl willing to collect the data about their country by themselves and just give it to you ready to upload =P

anyway the idea is great!

A bit easier to do it for irish shops as theres not that many but hell once i get this ripp off shit hole sorted i'm moving on to the uk.

Funny thing about the irish....we give out shit about the prices we pay but when we try to do something nobody is interested???

Here's a good one for you....a certain chain of grow shops has barred me from going into their stores because i told they i was starting up a price comparrison site...wtf???.

It might take a long time but in the end people will have a place to go to to get the best deals without having to spend hours comparing prices in different shops.

Put it like this 1 meter of mylar in one shop costs 10 euro and in another shop on the same street almost you can get the same brand mylar for 3 euros.

Legal exstacy the mark up is 400% same with most of the legal highs in most head shops...400%????

1 gramme of spice diamond is more expensive than a gramme of herb??

Name and shame is exactly what i'm going to do "nirvana" grow shop chain!!!

it might take a while to get all the prices from the different shops but soon enough price comparrison lists are going to be pasted to the windows and doors of these rip off merchants for all to see.

Good man kit always nice to get some help, sure just pick a shop and any grow related item and throw it up.

There,s a few on capel street in the city center, been a while but get up and grow seems to be the best value out of the lot of them around there.

Mind you you want to go in before they have their lunch time spliff the lads were ( been a few years since i been there ) pretty usless after lunch.

i'm not going by prices stated on any site as a bit of arguing will get a few quid knocked off hence the long time this is taking me to get an accurate price guide.

Well as soon as i'm there i'll write you a PM and u'll tell me what u need, i'm going there just to help my mother settle n have a tour. How fun is life? i hated Dubai when my mom lived there and i always wanted to visit ireland, now she's moving there, and hey i love beer! isn't kilkenny an irish beer? =P

Havent been in a grow shop in a while i will admit, are the prices still as bad as ever?

i was in a shop in cork a year ago, needed some flush. My regular shop was closed so i popped into get up and grow. 27 euro she was charging for it, even though the deep route had it for 15, and there was no haggling with her over the price. Left it on the counter anyway.

Get up & Grow was always ridiculously expensive. Some of the Biobizz nutes were almost twice the price as they were in Deep Route... probably explains why there Cork shop closed down. Anyone know if the shop on Capel street is still open? Jim was a nice guy

Utopianation is a nice shop in Cork. Owners are lovely but again prices are really high.

Always found that garden centres and DIY shops do for most of the basic supplies and anything else can be found online for far cheaper then in Grow shops. Just my opinion.

Also it seems foolish to be walking out of a grow shop with several hundred liters of soil.:crazy: Think there is reference to surveillance of grow shops in last years "Head shop" Legislation, but i could be wrong. However I know that one shop in particular has a garda camera pointed directly at the front door:eek:

deeproute is a good shop, good prices and nice staff. However if you're looking for something sophisticated it may be a problem - duh ;)

you can easly and very cheap order most of stuff off the catalogue. unfortunately webshop aint working anymore.

talking about utopia nation, unless you need drink-and-clean-ya-piss-formula there is nothing to be interested in ;) unless you are hipster ;) but this is just my opinion :bump:

I agree with you there, I dont like the place at all. They have a decent seed collection, all from planetskunk.

That American/Canadian woman working there is a spa too. I got some passion1 seeds and none popped while my 15 Frisian Dew had, I went up there and the guy was sound and said he'd replace them, as he knew who i was and i wasnt some noob.

Went up the next day and she starts telling me im germinating seeds wrong and its my fault and this was all before I mentioned anything of how i did it. she writes down on paper how to germ, pics in all. I just bit my tongue until....she said she shouldnt replace my seeds at all as there sold for novelty purposes and the second I germinated then It was illegal. I quickly mentioned that her telling me how to germinate them was illegal too. she shut the fuck up then. The cheek of her like
