Hi EvertKing,
I've found those time released ferts actually work great in my experience but they also use these little gel capsules that contain the nutes and water is the catalyst to release the nutes. I've fount that when roots are in direct contact to these capsules you will get burning as you're experiencing now. I've actually let mine go and they've healed over time. More water may clear the toxic area or worse release more nutes into the mix. You can repot them and sift out the gel capsules which aren't many per square inch but if it were me I'd ride the wave. Are these seedlings all you have at the moment? If so then I wouldn't take the chance and repot in neutral potting mix. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be fine.
