Seriously though. As funny as the articles last paragraph was, as touching as witnesses blaming the curb, I'd have liked to see a more formal hearing. One where the Marines looked the Judge in the eye and told the simple truth.
"Son, why did you and your fellows beat the man within an inch of his life?"
"Your Honor, the man needed to be beaten within an inch of his life. He was an armed robber that stabbed a Marine in the back while we collected toys for children."
"Not guilty. The court thanks you for your service to the community."
