My first grow. GF x BB and Mental Floss from Chimera

Seeds shipped incoming. Total nooby to this but I've been lurking on the forums for awhile. My target is a 2'x2' grow tent with 4 plants, two of each strain. Going to pick up all my supplies tomorrow DDDDDDDD

I'm definitely open to advice for these strains, but I do have quite a few grow journals bookmarked already. Can't wait to show off my horticultural skills !!

lookin forward to this one hes one of my fav breeders is chimera,, very underrated !!! iv smoked his mexican xblueberry resently ......................... wow springs to mind !!! ........ and it wasnt even grown very well too ..................... thats my next strain for sure

A good pal of mine is telling me to go with a 400w HPS light. I think that's the only thing I'm really questionable on at this point, it seems like it might get too hot for a 2'x2' tent. Anyone have experience with this?

You picked some good seed for sure.

If the tent is 2'x2' x 5' or 6' high and you have proper ventilation with an inline fan the 400 hps should work great. It might be better if you go to a 3x3 tent to make more efficient use of your 400 watter though.

Also the two strains you are growing have different stretch patterns. The mental floss will probably stretch quite a bit more than the gfxbb so unless you're planning on tying them down you might want to choose one of them this go around to keep your canopy manageable.

The only other advise I have would be to use big pots with lots of soil. 2 - 3 gals would be nice i think. I like to use an organic soil mix supplemented by an organic liquid fert.

Don't let the hydro store guys push too much product on you. keep it simple.

thanks for the tips ralph. seeds came, i'm going to go with a 2x4x4 tent. should be an interesting setup.

one thing to note, i really disliked the seedboutique packaging. i wont say too much, but it was ambiguous who the package was for which COULD have caused some deep shit for me. other than that, the packaging really protects the seeds which is great! I DID get some great sounding freebs though which makes up for it. Mixed Seeds x Haze/Skunk#1.

going with paper towel method, 5 MF seeds and 5 of the MxH/S#1. Been going for about 24 hours now. I'll check in on them tomorrow morning.

one thing I'm curious about is does Chimera only give you fem seeds or can you get males? I've been reading through previous mental floss grows with Chimera gear and nobody says anything about males.
