Question for Miracle Gro users

I find that the MG african violet mix works best, it comes with an establishedph between 6.0- 6.8, is airy, and it only feeds immediatly for up to 30 days. Its not a time released soil, and the ph is perfect for pot plants.

I used MG many moons ago when I first started growing. It worked very well as long as the bags of soil were fresh. Some bags have sat on the retailers shelf for years and will be AFU. So it is a crap shoot. I do not use MG any longer as I switched to TLO (true living organics) method of growing. Much better product and yield from TLO soil as opposed to using MG soil. You must mix your own TLO soil and with experience you come up with your own recipe.

Miracle grow is all cheep garbage, do you realize what they make it out of and what your smoking? Some of the most radioactive salts in the fertalizer market! It may grow plants but i will never smoke a bud that i know has been grown with it or similar mass produced for max profit only fertz, scotts ONLY cares about profits, not the health of the people giving them money!

In my experiences, MG Moisture Control works great. Amend with 20% perlite and you're golden.

PH? No issues.
Water Retention: Perfect. Very difficult to over/under water.
Taste? Delicious. My Cannacopia Chocolate Chunk tastes like Gods own incense.

Again, just my opinion. Not saying it's the best, but it damn sure gets the job done.

I've used MG a lot, & have found that it small seedlings are very sensitive. So, I just wait till they reach a certain size, then the growth explodes after 1 or 2 applications. I like MG because it is so readily available, & cheap; and the nugs came out just fine.

Well lets see. The OP wanted people that use MG to respond and of course the ones that don't showed up. There are plenty of threads that dish MG. This person just wanted to start one that didn't. IMPOSSIBLE I guess.
MG and all the other chem ferts work well enough if the grower takes the time to learn how to use them. One grow doesn't cut it.
I'm organic and always have been but sometimes for fun i'll grow a hempy and use chem ferts. MG works fine. Maxigrow and bloom work fine. The list goes on.

You dont need multiple grows to get happy frog or ocean forest to work well...and they will probably give you less tumors...

For those of you that are using MG soil, when do you start feeding? do you wait for the plants to start yellowing? just wondering..cause when you do your transplant before flowering you are adding fresh MG soil which also means fresh ferts and that means another wait for these ferts to be used up.

I start feeding after the first week most of the time, depending on what the plants are looking like. I will start them off very slow and adjust by the way they act to it. Say I don't see any signs of yellow in the leaves, I'll keep feeding, soon as I see them starting to lightn up abit, meaning the green color will slowly fade to yellow, if you watch them enough, you should catch them, and slow down if not cut the feeding off for afew days. Really it all depends on the batch and how they act to it just my 2cents..

Most will not agree and say I'm crazy and we've crazy for using MG. Me, Myself...use it because its cheap, nearby, ect. If I get to the point I can invest anice amount into my setup I would..
