Should I bother with Guerilla Growing?

I have an opportunity to do a guerilla grow next year.

I would only be able to visit and water the plants 2-3 times per month.

Is it even worth it for me to do a grow?

Average monthly rainfall during growing season is 4 inches, average monthly high is high 70's to high 80's.

The location is a 3 hour drive and I could only get there on the weekends, 3 weekends per month, max. Would I be wasting my time?

What are your objectives? Pro's vs. Con's

In my part of the world, the logistics involved to harvest are way too risky.

Find a source of water, use solar pumps on timers if you can.

If they're gonna go dry then there is really no point.

You can pull it off if you use water crystals. I'd plant as many as possible, though, because chances are you'll lose at least half, and to make it worth the long drive.

very good advice. to add a little to that, don't use soil moist brand, instead try ZEBA, both work but i choose the natural based product.

you should be good with that all season long, i've seen my guerrilla plants flourish under droughts. last year i had just .5 inch of rain in august, no losses and only watered once. check the rainfall logs on weather underground, great for record keeping. pay them a visit only as a last resort for a good deep soak.

bigger problems than lack of rain IMO. be mentally prepared for losses. growing outside can be discouraging and also very rewarding!! the excitement of it keeps me doing it, huge thrill in my boring life.

also you probably have many guerrilla opportunities closer than 3 hours to you. something to think about. gas costs are probably $60 a trip.

best of luck to you hope you get to do it

Hi. I'm doing guerilla growing this year (and last year too), been visiting(and watering) the plants once a week, with good soil preparation(perlite!!) it's all they need.

making trails and using perlite near the surface is a good way to have your patch discovered. you really don't need to amend the earth or visit that often if the spot is good.

Swamp grows need no water and are much safer.... read up on swamp tubes... set and forget...promix and osmocote 1c per 15g of mix... 20-30gals=1lb....grow on.
