help for my grandmother

does anyone know of a device i can put on a necklace that when she pushes the button on it, it makes a loud alarm sound until de-activated? she keeps falling down in the garage and it is really worrying me. she lives with my father, and he or his wife does not check up on her enough. 2 times last week she fell down in the garage on the hard floor. the last time, i took granddaddy to lowes, and she noticed he forgot his wallet, and she "ran" out to the garage to try and catch us(what a women!!!!). keep in mind she can barely walk, and needs a walker to move around. somehow she made it 75 feet without the walker, but fell down in the garage. we were gone for over 45 minutes, and when i pulled up, she was laying on the concrete garage floor. my father and stepmom were in the house(upstairs), and didn't check up on her the whole time or here her yelling. its breaking my heart, i love her to death. she is hardcore southern and republican, and when i got arrested for growing, they(garnddaddy too:)) were both there for me when other family cut me off. my granddad just completed radiation treatment for cancer, and is very very weak:(
i know there is the life alert or whatever, its a necklace with a button that calls the paramedics. instead of doing that, i would love to get something that had a really loud alarm. my dad and stepmom live upstairs from them, so they cant hear her yelling. she seems to fall quite often, so the paramedics being called may not be good. i think a loud alarm would be perfect.
either this or i move in with them, which i would do no problem if i was renting.
thanks you in advance, you may save a life!:tiphat:

thank you, both of you! i'll order some tonight, i cant believe how cheap they are.
i asked her if she would wear one, and she said yes, but told me not to spend too much money. i responded, ill pay 1 million dollars if i have to

good finds guys.......

hey walt, I'll also put in my .02 here when I ask you to make sure granny knows that the alarm has diminished effectiveness if she's laying on it/covering it while it's chirping and that also it will certainly be its loudest if the speaker is facing up.

Also you should know that some/most of the home alert systems allow relatives to be called first instead of responders if the pendant is activated. the telephone 'console' is on my desk in a separate room and yet if I activate the system by my front door 60+ feet away they can hear me clearly and I can hear them responding to me, it's that loud.

EDIT:
Also in the case of wearing one of these on her wrist as opposed to her neck consider this. If she has a stroke she could reach it on her neck with her hand of the unaffected side. If she were to wear it on a wrist she couldn't move or reach it would lose its effectiveness.

awesome stoner! im about to hit the sack but i have some questions for you tomorree about the home alert ones.

i tried spreading rep but it wouldnt let me

I would agree that the home alert systems would be ideal while these personal alarms could be a good supplement. Even if she's out of range of the speaker, they'll still send out EMS to check and make sure she's ok.
