wow. shitty situation...

my suggestion to you would be to chop the plants and take the large leaves off...

then with your scissors, chop the plant into smallish hunks while trying to cut out as much rot as u can into a large ziplock or 10 (lol) and freeze it fresh...

make sure u get a real nice deep freeze, at least 48 hours...

when u are processing it, break the smallish chunks even finer bits (should crumble in your hands at this point) and this is what you add to your ice water to agitate and run through the bags...

good luck

freeze and process it wet I think. I've heard of soaking it in warm water to get the mold to break off and rise to the top of the solution, then drying it and processing it for hash. but yeah, a few lbs of rotten bud is no good.

def freeze it wet...

and there is no making decent hash with moldy buds... u NEED to cut that shit out and dispose of it, and then hash the not moldy material

dosing your customers with moldy hash is even worse than selling them oil...
haha

The reason you can't make bubble out of moldy nugs is the finest filter is still much larger than the small mold spores (25mu or so)

Botrytis sp.

Aw 0.93. Conidia dimensions: 7-14 x 5-9 microns. It is parasitic on plants and soft fruits. Found in soil and on house plants and vegetables, it is also known as "gray mold". It causes leaf rot on grapes, strawberries, lettuce, etc. It is a well-known allergen, producing asthma type symptoms in greenhouse workers and "wine grower's lung".

I can make oil out of moldy nugs with alcohol wash, as it passes through a much finer filter (roughly 5 microns) that does catch the spores, along with tons of other crap that even 25mu bags miss.

The resulting alcohol wash is then evaporated under gentle heat, then baked in an oven to purge it fully and decarboxylize the remaining resin. This also kills any potential remaining spores and renders them inert.

So the answer is make oil out of it. Dry it first, the drier the better, and wash with frozen ISO or denatured alcohol. See elsewhere in this forum for the tech on how to do so properly.

Good post lazyman hit the nail on the head
i think i remember someone else saying to just buy a 1 micron syringe to run the alcohol through
Good luck

i was gonna say the same thing as lazy, but knew who i was posting after, not trying to turn this into a bho v.s. bubble thread. but obviously the smartest thing to do in this situation is use a solvent to extract the thc.

so im just gonna let it hang for now... may try to save it and make oil but oil aint really an option just gonna take a huge kick in the nuts... maybe runn it as hash and see what comes but im not one to put out nething thats notta 10 and done right ..... muthafuka hard lessoned leard... i pull alotof shit out my ass but 110+75% never gonna work...... neway my room is back to AAA and i got 2 back up compressors and and nother ac unit and 2 new dehumidiys never gonna happen again......
but on the real it feels like i crashed my car through my living room...

no where safe to fuck with bho not riskin blowin up to tight of spaces,,,i think im gonna check it tomorro decide whter to bin it or cut out the crap chop it up freeze it and then bubble it but instead of just ice and water add some iso to the the water and the run it... see what happens....its moldy on on just a spot on most of the nugz most the nug looks fine but its still there....

SeaMaiden had a great idea... do a 1~3% peroxide dunk of the nugs after the leaves are removed.

Quick burn of all the spores & mycelium, then dry as normal... or quick freeze for water processing. Maybe another option for you bro.

Still think the bho is the best route for 100% assurances though, as others have suggested.

Mold material and spoors are easily removed by filtration using a syringe filter to 0.2 microns. It doesn't however take out aflatoxins produced by mold.

Botrytis and Powdery mildew do not produce known toxic aflatoxins, so after a microscopic examination to positively identify the mold involved, 0.2 micron filtration is how we remove it.

I mention the qualifying microscopic exam, as some molds do produce toxic aflatoxins, so it is important to pay keen attention to the details of what exactly you are dealing with.
