Summer is coming up and im not sure how to combat the heat!

Ive got a diagram here how my room is currently!

Id like to run around 4 k watts total in the room during flower!

Last cycle i got 3,400 and temps climbed to 91 at highest! this is mid winter!

So i bought a
LG Electronics 15,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner

and hope that sucker will work! take a look at this picture please!

:artist:

The Lung room itself has a window in it with a 6" exhaust for the heat that the Air conditioner will produce.

---

My Question is, is my lung room even big enough for this big ass ac unit? I have a 6" Vortex fan to help exhaust the air right outside.

How do i exhaust the air in my grow room to bring in fresh air? i have no c02 this round as funds are short and if i have an exhaust while an ac is going, it would seem counter productive?

Any Advice Guru's ?

Hopefully your new assistant will provide the assistance you desire. Start with AC hoods and that $150 Best Buy window banger is cute, but it isn't enough for a couple of 400's. Don't worry your assistant will explain everything.

assistance is what you need

The 5x5 is really not a lung room. Lung rooms usually control multiple rooms.

I think the 5x5 room is fine especially if you have a 6" fan exhausting it.

You wont be able to AC it and vent it. You would just loose all the AC'ed air. You are going to need co2 or you can just run it w/o co2. I have done this

What are the outside temps? Can you run the lights at night and use that 6" fan to exhaust the room and keep it in the high 70's, low 80's?

Outside Temps in summer would be high 60s, But Yes, i intend on having lights on during night time -

The Room itself has a 8" Vortex fan, but i wouldnt be exhausting the room if using the AC?

i want to cram around 4k watts in here, so the AC is a must.

I will look into Co2, didnt really wanna dab into that part yet as i have only a handfull of grows under my belt.

Any Suggestions ?

Thank you very much for the response!

UPDATE :

Ok fellas, Im going seal the room up and use c02 and run higher temps 80-85 -

Picked up 2x 20# c02 tanks for 80$

http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-HydroGen-Co2-Monitor.asp

Shopping around for better rates, but those are the products im looking to get.

With the 6" vortex Fan exhausting the small room where the ac's heat will go, i hope that is enough to keep that small room from overheating.

My Question is, at the peak of summer im sure night temps would be anywhere from 65-75 at night time, Should i exhaust the lights with fresh air and just make sure no leaks around my cool tubes?

Or just close off the exhaust and deal with the heat, hoping the 15,000 Btu cools the room down and taking advantage of the c02?

hoping to cram around 4k watts in here -

Suggestions please? :tiphat:

pretty slow around here lately, I hope someone helps you out. I'm looking for cooling answers myself.

Hey I'm in a similiar dilema & might have it figured out....

Hey I'm in a similiar dilema & might have it figured out....

During your winter setup where it got to 90*, was that when the ambient outdoor temps were warmest, what were they?

I was a little confused there, I know an 8" vortex & big scrubber would have cooled that find for me if I was venting it all outside, but you weren't right? If so I think that could have been better without the cooltubes & varying how much you completely exhausted to the outside vs recirculated back into the other side of the basement to maintain the temps, that's how I did it on the second floor, took a bit to dial in but worked good. Also, to stablize the temps of the air that you are recirculating tons of fans moving the air throughout is key. Only problem with that way in the basement is the negative pressure & CO from your furnace.

I say fuck the co2, fuck the cool tubes, if it really doesn't get much above 70* summer nights use the 6" and the 8" each pulling through there own scrubber blowing directly out, figure out how to makeup that air as best you can, and make sure you don't kick your furnace on, whats your water heater?

Just don't be mad at me if you cook your crop, or have to kill lights a few hours during a heatwave..... Also, where are your ballasts located.....
