Just remember those "deals" are cheap for a reason. Iv'e had to fix quite a few problems with on-line purchases. A lot of seconds and sub standard shit.

There's also a crapload of people who think "Growing pot is easy", go out and buy all top notch equipment and 3 months later are saying "Fuck this" and have a fire sale on all their equipment. I see it all day long on Craigslist. 75% of the ads read "Used for 2 or 3 months." Bought me a 3 month old Ez Clone 60 for $60, a 4' x 4' undrilled Botanicare white tray for $40 and a Galaxy 1000 watt ballast for $75, all from growers who gave up before completing one cycle. Others have caught on to, because most of the "killer" deals I call on are usually already sold.

Few things in life are easier. It's people that make it complicated. The secret is LITFA (leave it the fuck alone.) The plants know what to do if we just get out of the way.

Agreed. It's the patience that's the hard part to learn. I should have specified that.. :dance013:

im not sure i would believe them. nobody ever says " i dogged the fuck out of this gear, and am deciding to sell it before it dies"
its always, barely used, like new, opened but not used...
lots of people who are unable to return faulty merchandise(for whatever reason), put it up on ebay.
also, with used equipment, it would suck if it was not cleaned properly, and still had a certain odor to it. people may never notice, but dogs might.

be careful, sometimes its worth the extra money to stay out of jail or not having the equipment burst into flames.

I have heard so many people off of craigslist say the same thing. "I bought all of this from Joe Schmos hydro shop for top dollar and growing is a scam! I finished my crop and nobody would buy it. Good luck with it!"

I just laugh and reap the benefits.

Ebay is okay, but I have heard a lot of horror stories. I also have got burned on a couple of purchases on ebay.

Most of us that have been growing for a while are able to look at equipment and tell approximately how long it's been in use and how abused it's been. I won't buy any used equipment off Ebay simply because I'm not able to look at it before purchasing it.

I have sold and bought literally hundreds of items off ebay, and for the most part its very safe for the buyer, if somebody posts an ad, with a missleading discription you can file a claim and ebay will pretty much freeze up his paypal account permanently till he returns your money. Not only that but after recieving a ffew bad feedbacks sellers often have their accounts restricted, so they cannot recieve the money you paid for their item till you recieve the item and give them positive feedback. Remember its "im aftaid of getting ripped off" people that cost them so many customers, so they do everything they can to ensure people dont get ripped off.

It looks like the OP didnt realize his seller was pulling the old, "take 200 dollars off the price and add 200 to shipping" its pretty common practice, you will know when you ask if you can combine shipping on multiple items and they will pretty much say no, since most of the shipping charge isnt going to shipping, it is their profit, spoils for duping people who dont realize the inflated shipping price basicaly puts you right back to msrp.
