What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? seedling/early veg
What Technique are you using? vertical
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.) fytocell (new medium, has recieved good reports - have watched other growers on other forums use it with no problems, so don't think it's the medium
What is the Water temperature? n/a
What color are your roots? White? Brown? Are your roots slimy? n/a
What Nutrient's are you using?(If growing soiless) currently just rhiztonic and superthrive
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* 5 ml per gallon rhizotonic, quarter teaspoonfull per gallon superthrive
How often are you feeding? (If using soiless) once every 2/3 days
How often are you giving nutrients? (If using soiless) once every 2/3 days
What is the pH of the "Tank"? pHing to 6.2
How often are you testing your pH/PPM/EC/TDS? as i feed
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equipment? yes have double checked
When was your last watering? today
How often do you clean your system: example: Flush out water replace with clean water and nutrients? add clean, fresh water each feeding
What size bulb are you using? 150w blue CFL
How old is the bulbs you are using? brand new
What is the distance to the canopy? 6 inches

Is the fan blowing directly at plants? no
Is your water HARD or SOFT? hard
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? tap
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap? unsure, don't own a ppm meter yet =/
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched nope
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? nope
Are plant's infected with pest's nope

There are three babies in hempy buckets all displaying the same symptoms. Discolouration of their older leaves, combined with brown spotting, as you can see in these pictures below:

In these next two pictures you can see what's happening to the young leaves, a slight fading of the lush green colour, to a pale green. The second picture is of a seedling in a bubbler (suggesting it's not the hempy buckets causing the problem). Note however that this seeding is 2 weeks old as well, it's growth was stunted early on as the water level got too low in the bubbler and its roots dried out. It has grown slightly since, but there are still no new roots poking out the bottom of the netcup yet =/

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks a lot =)

Ok so they've gotten a lot worse overnight. The leaves are now drooping considerably and the paleness of the newer leaves is spreading further inwards. I've also included a picture of my setup. I'm not sure whether it's a cal mag def, or they just need a really light feed to provide some N? Please help me!

How about feeding them a little?

As far as I can see from your posts ur not actually feeding them anything - just giving them rhizotonic and superthrive - neither of which contain any nutrients as far as I know.

The analogy would be if you only took vitamin pills, but never ate any food - u would starve pretty quick.

I would say give them a light feed of veg nutes....

Thanks for your help Grønn. Yes you are right, I haven't been feeding them - but I was under the impression that you shouldn't give them any nutes until they're on their 3rd set of leaves?

Third picture down looks like the start of PM with the white drop? Whats making them wilt though looks more like a watering issue.

they look overwatered, underfed, and maybe a touch of the mites in the 3rd from last pic. I hope im wrong tho.

Thanks for all the help, +rep to you all. The white spot is just a bit of the medium that must have gotten onto the leaf somehow, it is not spidermites (thank god!).

It's strange how they look overwatered, as it's supposedly impossible to overwater in this medium (fytocell). I had a look round some other grows, using fytocell and apparently it can cause leaves to droop for a week or so after transplant whilst the plant gets established.

I've got some floranova grow arriving tomorrow, so I'll probably just give them a weak feed with that, like 1ml per gallon or something should do the trick I hope (don't have an ec pen yet =S)

Fingers crossed they perk up! Sour diesel beans are not cheap!

No reason not to give them a light veg feed - especially when they're growing in an inert medium. I think it's mainly in soil and other mediums that contain some base nutrients where it's best to wait with giving them some feed.

From you're cotyledons (first seed leaves) it def look to me like their needing a feed.

Don't know enough about fytocell to tell u if it's possible to overwater, but they do look overwatered.

Also I wouldn't use rhizotonic and superthrive together as they both contain some of the same components, resulting in a potential overdosing issue.

I agree, give them a light feed cut out the rhizotonic and superthrive check the ph of the water and they should recover fast.

Would wager you are having some issues w the watering sched between the two mediums... fytocell in the pots & your rw starter cube.

Never actually played with the fytocell, but think it works similar to the STG... doesn't really wick water up very high... like 4~6". So... could be that the roots are finding it difficult to get down into the fytocell while getting established. I had issues getting the STG & rooters to mesh at first, so...??? Might be the issue.

Thanks for all the help guys. MIway, fytocell actually wicks pretty well, and the fytocell on the surface is still moist, so I don't think that could be the issue. Thanks though, I will keep an eye for it.

Can any recommend how much ml per gallon I should feed them? I don't have an EC pen just yet unfortunately. The floranova grow feeding chart states 1 ml per gallon for seedlings. Is that ok, or should I go with 0.5 ml per gal to start off with?

Thanks again =)

You are drowning them. I would get them out of that medium and put them in some seed starter mix: Miracle Grow Seed Starter mix, or Lightwarrior by Foxfarms. Don't fool around with expensive beans. Seedlings do not need food. Just a light seed starter mix. Once they are established, you can transplant them however you want.
