Hydrohut Venting?

Anyone out there running a HydroHut silver edition in the 3'x3'-5'x5' range using passive intake?

If so how are the results, would you say passive is sufficient enough, or is an intake fan required to maintain proper temps?

Keep in mind I also plan to independently air cool my fan with a separate 6'' 160cfm duct fan and the tent with a 4'' 170cfm inline with carbon filter and duct muffler... i guess I'm really asking if that will be sufficient enough in general terms using the passive vents?

C'mon Hydrohut users help me out here

Should probably mention that in the summer time i intend upon running a window a/c unit in the same room as the tent spring fall and winter is mostly balls ass freezing so i don't worry about those season.

Yes, passive intake works just fine. What I do is I use a small run of ducting in one of the lower ducting holes. On the side that is outside the tent I put some cheesecloth or a dryer sheet over it. After a week or so you'll see the dust buildup. It works really well as an intake filter.

In my SJ tent (4x4) I had my filter connected to the fan (4" Vortex on speed controller) and it worked just fine. As long as you keep the temperatures steady in the room the tent is in you'll be fine.

I also used a window AC during the summer. It worked out very well. Just watch your humidity -> bud rot.
