Blue Cindy and Strawberry diesel

looks like a good height to me. make sure you dont put that 400 too close, young plants dont need really intense light.

you shouldnt have to stake plants this early, with the fans you dont want them blowing directly on the plants, maybe point the fan beneath the light.

molasses is used to feed micro organisms in the soil, these help plants assimilate nutrients.

just remember with that fan blowing in there it will dry the pots out more than usual just like the wind does outside. i wouldnt stake them up this young i would just put the fan on them to make the stems stronger. as far as lst wait until they are a little bigger then start.

Thank you for the quick replies.
I am trying to keep the light at the right amount of height is there a general guidline?
Also what is the recommended water schedule for plants in soil. I just been kinda winging it but would like to set a regular schedule if at all possible..
Again thank your for the quick replies.

for the light just make sure you are able to hold the back of your hand under it at that distance without any discomfort, usually a good indication if your plants can handle it.

just water the plants whenever you see that the soil is drying up, stick your finger in there and see if it feels dry. ideally you dont want the soil to dry out entirely between waterings, but it should be mostly dry. Every 3 days or so depending on many variables.

alright sweet. Thank you. i'll post an update tomorrow. also hopefully ordering the tent/fan/carbon filter tomorrow. and then we'll really be cookin.

SO they pretty much look the same as the last picture. But i do have a question. Are these guys considered veg now or are they still seedlings? cindy is exactly two weeks old and the others are jsut like two days behind or whatever..

its just a title. i refer to veg as anything not in 12/12 and is rooted.

your plants will show sex while in veg and you want to flip them to 12/12 based on the height restrictions and how much they will stretch in flower.

stretch was id'd early on by a pic of a seedling sprouted w/o no to little stem between sets of leaves. too much stretch in veg = floppy plants and too much internodal spacing which mean's you will harvest less than the same plant that is the same height but a tighter internodal spacing.

you can control stretch in veg by the proper color temp of cfl and it being at the proper distance from the plant canopy. once established and growing stretch can be controlled by lightly stressing the plant by defoliation or pinching the stems. this interrupts growth so the plant can heal itself.

i hope i havent explained anything wrong and if i have please correct me.

good luck and the t5 light should do wonders for the girls.

OKay so apparently I was misinformed on my light bulb. It is in fact a MH bulb. so I have been doing it right this whole time lol. NOw I am in search of a HPS anyone recomend a fairly low budget one that they are getting good result from?

So can anyone explain topping, possibly show photo guide of it. That would be uber sweet.

DaPurps how did you make that plant inyour avatar look like that????

Hello

Hello

Alright ladies and gents gather around for I have news and new questions to come with that news lol.

went to my local hydroponics store last night and purchased 4 inch filter/fan combo in a last ditch effort to control my temps. when I leave the door cracked at night I think the light is going under my kids door and waking him up. = not good at all.

But they don't appear to be helping much.

here is a link to the filter

heres the fan.

its got hydrofarm ducting as well.

I also purchased some nutrients last night. I went with general hydroponics. Floromicro, FLorobloom, and FLorogro

I am giving them the recommended dose on the back of the bottle for clones/seedlings since this was there first feeding and all and will slowly be introducing them to more as I go.

They were served a 1/4 teaspoon of each in a gallon of water. then next feeding do I just feed them water or do I give them nutes everytime? they say for mid veg plants they should be at a teaspoon so I figure over the next four times they get nutes I will increase to that. just in time to switch to 12/12 on the 25th. that is five weeks. they should show sex. they should be tall enough it should theoretically be the perfect time from what I can tell.

I topped at the second node and flowered soon after. Tied the only 4 branches to be at the same height to get 4 same-sized buds. :)

Hey SS all lookin good...You can use the MH light till flower time then switch to HPS..
I think your veg. time will be lower with the MH,cuz it has more intence light then HPS more on the blue....Where HPS is on the yellow /red side of the light spectrum...
If this is misleading plz correct me.
For just a noob here putting in his 2 cents.

No your correct. I have three weeks left of veg. Then I need an hps I got it figured out I found one for uber cheap at my local hydoponics store. 25 bucks he he
