Welcoming Myself

Hi! Welcome to ICMag.com!
Thank you.

Can you tell us about yourself?
Well, it goes like this. I am a dude. A dudely-dude. Not as much a manly-man as a dudely-dude so let's stick with that. I was medically retired from the U.S. army for a slew of injuries I received a couple years ago. I have moderate brain damage and degrading conditions in my pelvis and back, and a host of psuedo-psychiatric problems from the brain damage. I tell you this for no other reason, except, to ask for a grain of salt to be placed on some of my postings. I can be erratic, and have varying levels of functionality from day to day. Today is an excellent day for me, so I finally finished this. I am not 2 or 3 people on the same account, just 1 guy I promise.

SOMETIMES I CAN BE A DICK FOR NO REASON. FOR THAT I APOLOGIZE! SEE ABOVE!But please note, if you ARE being a dick, the rest of the forum can read as well as I can, and I will not take kindly to anyone using this to flame me! May sound crazy, but people say the worst things when they can't see the other person, and I love this community for the love I see in it.

I am not college educated, but I try to push myself to learn new things and polish the old. I was at one time an excellent writer for my age, winning grants for college and such, and lately the best thing I've gotten published was in SpankBank adult magazine.
"Tits R sweet. UR boobs aR3 tEh hotness - Shveti "I actually DO read the articles" Nootez from Sweden"
Was the line, if I remember correctly. Hopefully, this message board, among other things, will help me out with my writing again. Everyone knows if you want criticism, show something you are proud of to a 15 year old stoner, and let them pick it apart. Side effects may include, but are not limited to: Irritability, Headaches, Nausea, RLS, questioning your sexuality, intellect, and penis length, and an overall disgust with mankind.:thank you: But in all seriousness, if a post of mine sounds retarded, its probably because so was I at the moment of it's inception.

Constructive feedback is ALWAYS a great plus with me. It doesn't have to be nice, but if it has a point I will love you for it. I learn best hands on, so if I am making a mistake, please speak up! I don't claim to be an expert on anything, and can always take a new point of view.

I've been smoking bud since my balls were bald, and I was introduced by my cousin (Who's father had quite a lucrative business in Oregon growing "rabbit food" in greenhouses all over his property :jump:) I fell in love, and only stopped when I shipped out because I had too lol. I've smoked in the following countries: US, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. I've had a lot of fun smoking out, and tried my hand at growing years ago in High School.

I live in Northern California now, I'm a medical and a recreational user (Yes, there is a difference. Smoking because you HAVE to, before you can eat, or hold a conversation just takes the fucking piss right out of it.) I can't work well with customers or other people well, and so I decided to make growing my career now that I'm out. I'm on my 3rd crop of "professional" level cannabis. I've grown both sativa leaning and indica leaning hybrids, but never a landrace variety, or even a 10+ week flowering sativa yet.

As a pot smoker, I have been called a "snob" by some of my friends. I will pass on some shwag, fertilizer bombs, or just plain crappy weed. I have a gift living here, I am not going to waste it smoking hay! lol But I am sensitive to harsh smokes, flavors, and nuances in highs. I want to use this to cultivate some truly high grade cannabis.

My past attempts at growing had been hack job attempts between some friends, books, and a lot of trips to home depot. We had gotten some decent quality harvests from some bag seed, but nothing to write home about, and nothing to skip that "something special" that would make it's way around on occasion. I knew about curing, but not about flushing, i thought fertilizers were "plant food" and as long as they didn't get nute burn, they would love it. From lurking this board I have learned a lot that I now put into practice, and I am also being taken under the wing of a man who has grown the finest bud I have ever had the pleasure of smoking. I am switching to organics as I use up nutes, and am growing a much finer product now.

I have an intense desire to learn everything I can, grow THE BEST herb to its fullest genetic potential, and propel the study if the botany of marijuana forward. Since my injury I am going for my degree in botany, and plan to use it to study the nuts and bolts of what is truly happening when we cultivate cannabis, not just anecdotes and blogs, but hard scientific data. I don't look at cannabis as "just weed." Sure, theres plenty "just weed" out there that has its place, and can be fun to blaze through tons with friends, but I am looking to produce cannabis like fine wine. Years of crafting and honing to deliver a product at it's highest caliber, and accepting nothing less.

I feel this community is the best place to meet like-minded people, as I have already found a few that I admire, and it seems like this community has put most of the terrible advice (that gets perpetuated in many grow circles) to bed with good evidence back in 2005, and have since moved on to bigger and better issues.:jump:
Seedbay and the boo have to be the greatest websites ever launched (fuck google!lol) and I am cracking open a handful of dieselrella seeds as we speak.

I may not have covered everything, and it might not have the best format, but here it is! I hope to bring something to this community to give back after everything I've learned so far, and in anticipation of everything I have yet to learn. I am not the best writer, but I try my hardest to get my points out. I work hard to learn and retain, but dont be insulted if you tell me the same advice twice, and I dont follow it at first. It was either bad advice, or I didnt retain it when I walked away from the computer. I'll let you decide which one lol.:tiphat: I always mean well, and though I may feel strongly about some things, I can ALWAYS be persuaded by sufficient evidence and a good orator. I hope to be an addition to this community in a couple of months by adding grow journals and updates, but will most likely take a backseat on other threads as conversations are too difficult for me to track most often.

If you made it this far then bravo, thanks for reading my ramblings. I hope you have a better understanding of who I am, so we can all work together to make this even better. I feel privileged to have been introduced to this community, thank you!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I love the signature monk, and the finger snap on the dancing guinea pig puts the cherry on top lol. I know this might be a noob question, but i'm trying to put links to my grow journals in the signature on the bottom, any suggestions? (I did some searching but hit a wall lol)
