....

Don't have one nor need one. However I used to have one some time back. They all work, some better than others.

IMHO it is better to have a GPS detector than a jammer, that way you'll know something's up and you're on the radar if a signal is detected.
Then just go, find the culprit and stick it on your neighbors car.

FWIW if they were to pursue it the penalty for using a jammer would be worse than they are for growing some bud just a word to the wise...

anyone care to post the PC for that? whats the actual penalty and why is it illegal, i should be able to use a GPS jammer in case of a snoopy ex-wife or stalker......

im using on of those standard ashtray ones, seems pretty cheaply made so thinking about upgrading to a GPS detector, that way just run the detector, if everything is clean then just drive without the unit.......

Here is a start use your google after 911 they passed some very heavy handed laws regarding interfering with emergency services broadcasts

PS, a jammer is just another radio too. A properly functioning jammer puts out radio waves the same freq as the bug or phone. I wouldn't be surprised if they were a common garage project.

I started a good thread last year in this forum about GPS tracking devices. Lots of info. I think it was called "Some interesting stuff I learned about GPS tracking devices" or similar. I don't feel like looking it up right now but you are free to do so.

Recently a kid in a town near me took his car for oil change and found a GPS tracking device under his car. THey were tracking him because he was a muslim, but ive also heard about them using to track growers and dealers.

So ive been doing some research about it, trying to find out what they use.

Hey,

I didn't read this thread yet, but I thought I could post a couple of links you may find useful. Sorry if someone already posted this info:

To avoid GPS tracking use jammers; they are available for car, person and home: http://www.thesignaljammer.com/categories/GPS-Jammers/

You also should consider jamming your cell phone too, if you're on a trip and you don't want cell phone towers giving away your location (re: triangulation of pings):

Also, RFID jammers for credit cards, passports, etc., can prevent other forms of tacking: http://www.idstronghold.com/

*note: cell phone and GPS jammers are illegal in many states.

That store (The SignalJammer) also has radar jammers to block radar guns from cops on the highway.

I wonder what kind of probable cause it takes to get a warrant to track someone by GPS?

I'm not debating the fact that they exist, or that police departments that are well funded have them, but if the're interested enough in you to track you with a GPS bug, you have bigger problems.

Nobody gets randomly targeted with these things. More than likely you threw something in your trash or your neighbour's back yard smells funny. That means it's time to cut and run.

As for the legality of jammers, they tend to be legal to use on private property, but not in public. Although I'm not quite sure how they would figure out who was using it unless it was discovered during a search; again, you already have bigger problems.

The po po ant the only ones to use trackers use your imagination as to who might be interested where your goodies are and jammers are flat out illegal anywhere in USA or Canada
