Hey all
Been a while since i've been on, but i figured who better to get advice from than the experts right?
Here's the setup
16 x 1000W sHPS A/C cooled hoods in a 20x25 room.
Temps are between 77 - 81 (adding an A/C soon that should bring me to optimum temps).
A/C's are cooled with a long mess of 8" insulated ducting, in a closed loop, starting and ending with a 10inch can fan. There are also about 3 other can fans along the loop to make up for bend tension in the airflow.
I have about 20 Headbands and 20 OG's in soil, but those are doing fine, it's the 150 sitting in rockwool that aren't happy. I've never run rockwool before, but a buddy of mine swears by it so i figured i'd give it a try.
Strainage:
OG in Rockwool
OG in Soil
HEADBAND in Rockwool
HEADBAND in Soil
HOG pre-teen from the store to be mommed out.
TRAINWRECK pre-teen from the store to be mommed out.
GREEN CRACK pre-teen from the store.
GRAND DADDY PURP pre-teen from the store.
SS3 from seed from our very own 'Shady's seed bank'
Blue Buddha from seed from our very own 'Shady's seed bank'
The rockwool are in standard 4x4 and 4x8 flood trays, being top watered at the moment. Here are some specifics:
They are 3 weeks since transplant to the bigger rockwool cubes (4 inchers) they started in the 1 inchers.
One week ago on the dot they were given bad food (mixed up the ratios). They were flushed immediately, 8 times in the next 36 hours.
They then resumed their regular feeding schedule of:
2 Waterings a day, PPM of 1200, PH between 5.8-6.0. Rockwool was soaked in 5.0 PH solution before transplant, as directed by Grodan.
There's algea, and gray mold growing on the rockwool. Getting ready to apply an H2O2 spray and cover the cubes with some mylar, except i can't use a cover until i buy some pumps to do a true Ebb and Flow. The lights are spaced about 2.5 feet apart, so there are about 3 per 4x8 table and 1.5 per 4x4. There are about 10 fans placed strategically, so airflow is not an issue.
The problem? Sickly growth, Mold/Algea growing, very very droopy leaves, yellow/very light green color of the leaves. Also: banding of the leaves, and the sides curling up like a ram's horn...
If i were diagnosing a soil plant, i'd say nute lockout due to ph changes... However, PH has been stable....
Any suggestions? Ideas? Diagnosis?
OG drooping in rockwool, note the algea growth (could be black mold?):
Some of them never even really rooted:
Note the sides of the leaves curved up, and extreme banding going on:
Gray mold? Think an H2O2 solution + light coverage will cure? OR something more extreme:
Group OG shots:
Other Random Shots:
