a six foot fence is important. by law they cant get a search warrant for looking over a fence over 6 ft high. that might not apply if your plants are visible by towering over your fence or if they can stand on a hill nearby and see over. in my case they used a ladder to look over my 8ft high fortress from a neighbors and claimed there was a 2 ft gap in my fence to cover their ass. it sounds like youre living in a sane part of the state though.

this year for my 2 plants im gonna triple wall with 10' green house mesh 5' inside the fence line. so even if you look over the fence you still wont have line of sight. some people out in the dessert here get real creative and build massive plant enclosures out of greenhouse 40% shadecloth so even from a heli you cant see anything. and it keeps the plants protected from 135 degree temps and santa anas.

your tea sounds like it might not be ready if it still smells sweet. is your tea brewer outside and has it been really cold at night? its early in the year and probably the cold is affecting the reproduction rate of your bacteria. that sweet smell could mean that the beneficial microbes havent consumed up all their food, meaning they havent reached peak colonization.

i found that for my 55gal brewer @70 degrees it took about 5 days for the first brew to appear ready. after that i always left some tea inside the brewer to kind of jump start the teas. after a while it basically became a perpetual tea brew with teas appearing ready after sometimes just a day. its all semi educated guess work unless you have a microscope.

if youre getting enough oxygen in the brew and its not a 5 gal little brewer and it doesnt smell like ammonia and its in a cool place then most likely its temps slowing you down.

besides watering your plants with low levels of molasses or whatever sugar source your using isnt too bad and can be good. ive heard in high doses it can make the micro life in your soil go nuts to the point that your soil heats up. but ive mixed in a tbs of molasses per gallon in later stage waterings as a bloom booster with no issues and you probably arent putting more than that in your tea brews. worse case scenario youre giving your plants a good triacontinol drench so thats cool.

cant wait to see some pics!

I'm on a large piece of forested property, the only way to see my patch is to walk a few acres into the property or by helicopter from specific angles. Them making excuses to come check you out is bs, they probably were tipped off by a neighbor. I'm way up north where they seem to leave us alone for the most part. My dad showed me a grow here in town that had at least a hundred six foot tall plants in someones backyard that was surrounded very closely by neighbors. I was amazed that there was no problem with that and figured it was a collective grow, it had a 6 ft fence so you had to be in a lifted truck to see it at all.

You could be right about the cold, the weather here has been in the 60's daytime and 40-50's at night, I've noticed a little smell from the alfalfa tea but nothing like what others described on rose growing forums, maybe I'm not sensitive to bad smells, I've been around some seriously stinky stuff and never gag even with the 3 day old dove guts that sat in a cup in the bed of a pickup truck I just slapped them on a hook and reeled in big catfish.
I'm using barley malt syrup that's left over from mixing up some homemade brix mix, sprouted barley is supposed to be full of good enzymes that break down organic matter. I'm liking it so far.

I was wanting to take pictures today but it's raining and I just saw a pregnant aphid on one of my girls so I sprayed them with neem. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get some good pics, I've been holding some pics from two weeks ago that I'll post with the new pics for growth reference. I've also been sewing some more pots together, went with 65 gallon size for the other three.

This year it's rock out with your c**k out, F**k the haters No defeat no surrender go big or go home nothing is gonna get me down. This year I'm legal and living the dream, no holds barred and other assorted sayings, yeah :D

Easter update time:

The three girls I have put out in their pots are doing well, they were starting to get root bound in #7 containers and they are showing some cal/mag deficiencies because of this. I've got them transplanted into 100 gallon DIY smartpots and they are loving life now.
Here they are in the #7 pots on 4/14 and the 100 gallon Sp's on 4/24:

Bubbleberry x WW

Headband S1

Headband S1 started about a week after the other HB (not during the proper moon phase)

I've had to top the Bubbleberry for fear of it reaching into the clouds, last time that bastard Jack tried to climb up there and steal the giant's golden goose. lol There are local canopy restrictions here and I've got to keep this girl in line.
How big do you think she's going to get? She's almost 3' 6" now, I've also topped the side branching to try to keep that in line.

The headbands are progressing nicely, very bushy and they stink like diesel. I haven't topped them.

I'm thinking that I should clone the two larger girls and chop them, that way I can get six plants out there and still be within canopy and height restrictions.
I've got three more full season girls to go out in a few weeks, two from Sensi seeds, Big Bud and Early Skunk and an OG kush clone.
Stay tuned :tiphat:

Howdy Roachclip, thanks for stopping by.
Not much changed yet, I'm still debating on chopping the big girls so I can stay in code. It really sucks to think about doing that but I'm pretty sure they will overgrow the container size if I let them go, I took cuts today. Also got the other plants outside and transplanted into 3 gal pots, within a month they will be in their 65 gallon pots. This project is starting to come together.

OG Kush light dep 30 days flower

How's she look so far? I've been feeding with Floranova bloom, buddha bloom, floralicious bloom, silica and beasty bloom (during week 3 only) . My plan is to feed another week of this then cut out the floranova and silica and give her a bump of cha ching during week 6 then flush at week 8 for one - two weeks to harvest at 9 - 10 weeks. Sound ok?
I've also been foliar spraying once a week with my own brix mix substitute.

I got this cut from a co-op, does it look like OG? If so what cut do you think? She smells fruity.

joe, try a stem rub to see if it has that og smell. its hard to tell from pics but it looks like the og i grew outdoors. but then the pics u have are from a plant not done flowering. its a touchy subject, lots of people have their own ideas of what a true og is. i went through so many fake fire og clones that i dont trust anyone who doesnt have a solid reputation. i even got duped from a solid connect who swore the og cut they had was legit and from a guy who never gives out his genetics only to get a call from them 3 weeks later saying the guy lied to them and that what i had was actually ssh.

i wonder how many fancy og names are just renamed ogs from people who were unsure if their cut was legit and didnt wanna be called out by someone who knows what og is supposed to be. "hey dawg this isnt og" "uhm yeah uhm thats because its snakes and barrels og, different cut man"

I hear ya there Localhero, I haven't had enough OG to be any kind of judge. I'm mostly a sativa guy and I don't get around much. Maybe it will show what it is later in flower.

Nice Joe,

Good start and its getting going for sure. You have some nice genes and should be fighting back branches all summer long. Foliar feeding FTW at least weekly. Best wishes and have a good spring.

p.s. the OG is a piney smell with hints of chem solvent, very lanky growth habit. NS

Welcome Cannido Cowboy, belly up to the bar and have a smoke, on me. There's plenty of loco weed to go around. :tiphat:

Thanks Northstate,
I've been thinking the plant I have isn't OG at all, it smells sweet and fruity not even close to pine and chem. Maybe the smell will change later in flower but it looks and smells like good smoke anyways. I took a cutting before flower and by the looks of the buds so far, it's going to get a big container for the season.

Not much has changed around here, plants are coming along nicely even with these cold nights. I've got an autoflowering big bang about a month old, it looks like a runt compared to the other plants I started at the same time. I've never grown an af but I got the seed for free so I figured having some smoke in a few months without having to light dep it would be worth a container of soil and some nutes, we'll see.

Big Changes Update

Big Changes Update

I've chopped a few of the girls due to concerns about running out of root space and I ended up getting some better genetics as well. I kept the Big Bud and she's in a 100 gal, the large bubbleberry was cloned and I put the clone in a #15 container but I'm thinking about putting her in a 65 soon.

Check out this Sensi Big Bud, here she is on 5/9
