Strains That Tolerate High Temps...

Hey Folks,

I'm trying to find some different strains to pick from that can handle higher temps. I will be doing a tent grow this summer, and I am worried that temps might get on the high side in my apartment. I don't have any air conditioning. I live in Portland OR, so it shouldn't be too bad, but even here we can have periodic 100 degree heat waves, and even more likely snaps of 90 degrees on occasion.

This will be my first grow in a tent, and I'm looking at this as a practice grow, and don't want to spend a lot for these seeds due to the potential of heat wave problems. I won't be looking to find a mother plant with his go-round, just want to get some decent smoke to carry me through.

I know about the Mandala offerings that do well in hotter environments, but I want to see if there are more interesting strains out there to choose from. Would like to keep the cost of the strain below $50, and feminised would be great as well...not looking to make any beans from this crop.

If your not against autoflowers, sour60 is a good choice. Had a crop that was badly abused and neglected. It was a bumper/test crop to see how much shit it could handle.

Waterings after a bad wilting, given h20 instead of food at times, no aircooling or fan inside to push air around. only air exchange was from the scrubber exhausting air out of the tent. Temps were around 85 consistently tho during noon they would peak to high 80's maybe 90 (depending on cloud cover)

Since you won't be cloning, you can get 2 packs and do an open pollination your first run and be set for seeds, lots of practice with those (don't know why you don't want seeds, will still smoke good) A good thing about the many phenos of sour60 is it doesn't get boring, and there are elusive phenotypes that are quite remarkable. Also perpetual grows are easy to establish (start them with shoplights for the first 21-30 days, then move under hps after sexing) Thats an added benefit for hotter temps, only 30ish days under the hot lights.

Here is a nugshot of one those neglected plants. (they did weight less, but not much considering what they went through, and quality was still good, should be the same as seeded bud maybe..).

Either invest in an A/C or seal up the room and run CO2.

It was 75 here the other day and my closet with a 600 cool tube jumped to 90*F. I grow all summer long and it is really almost impossible to do without A/C, I got central air so I dont sweat it much but at the very least get a window A/C.

The better quality buds and yield will compensate for the few bucks more to it costs to run an a/c. Why waste time growing shitty buds.

Blue Dream if you can find it, ( Clone Only ).

SSSDH. ( I had an S1 from the shire cut, it grows right next to a bare 1000w and loves it.

Don't even think about Sour Diesel though.

My Burmese cut is always my 1st choice to run in the summertime.....95f is all good with this exotic gal....my staple :)
