U.S. Attorney Will Prosecute Dispensary Owners

Bullshit. This is the greatest, most active, educated, enlightened and otherwise engaged generation in decades, perhaps centuries. What, do you think it's 40 and 50 year old's whom have brought about 15 medical marijuana states, condemnation of torture abroad, and multi-cultural etiquette? Please.

It's the passive-aggressive, under-educated, awful-parenting self-esteem cult of the failed 70's that has us in this predicament in the first god damn place.

As well, the police state of today is only increasing due to the advent of technology protruding at rapid pace. Put the technology of today in the hands of law enforcement and government with the youth of the 70's through the 90's and they'd be getting away with ten times what they get away with today.

As a young person, I'm not much for generational solidarity. But enough is enough. This generation is, dare I say cautiously, a bit inspiring on the civil liberties front. It's the completely nonsensical passive stupidity of the parental generation and older that holds this nation in a grip of totalitarianism.

if you told my kids i was nonsensical or passive they would laugh their asses off. just so you know every kid thinks parents are stupid. many people have raged against this machine for many generations, without them it would be much worse. if your generation could get enough of you together at one time you could get some changes made. unfortunately that is much easier said than done.

back in the day under cover cops infiltrated radical groups to take them down. now they just monitor what is said on the web. just because 1 million people think something does not mean 500 or so don't need to get their asses in the street and do something about it. no action no progress.

been that way in this country for too long

yes it does phillth ....... but if they wrote it today it would say "you have the right to bear arms if you agree with what we shove down your throat (and oh yeah if you smoke a joint within 50 yards of any gun we will put your ass in prison for as long as we see fit" ...... progress right?

things like this make me wonder what it will take to begin the process of actually addressing topical federal laws.

15 states - 30% of the union - have laws allowing what the federal government explicitly disallows. how this doesn't make the country's mental clutch pop and grind baffles me.
People like you make me wonder:wave:
Ever heard of Sativex? Coming to a Pharmacy near you.

There are only a handful of states trying to 'do it'!
Most have been curtailed back significantly, and Colo is trying hard to push it under, too (and we are the only State with MMJ by Constitutional Amendment).

That leaves the Pacific Coast to bear the burden, once again.
I'm sure most out there won't mind, though.
:blowbubbles:

P.S. Those 'Med States'? Try reading the laws. I think you should move to NJ and become a caregiver, or patient.

somewhere in the middle of being snide, i think you forgot to make an actual point.

people seem to expect the situation will resolve somehow without an actual push to alter federal law. as evidence, i give you the absolute dearth of people pushing to alter federal law.

'just don't enforce that law!' goes nowhere fast.

THE SINGULARITY IS NEAR

Once we are shocked enough to to tend to our foundations, higher consciousness will see it needs higher consciousnesses to support its own hierarchical expansion (holarchical*).

At this point we should have the sense that any and all entropy (waste) is bad and that having an uneducated, mythical even - base consensus, doesn't even make for good cheeseburgers, we cannot even provide them all 49 cents burgers.

“Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn't the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural?” -Bill Hicks

Quality will supersede Quantity so help us god, we need to get past our egos and sense of propriety and accept birth control and kill off technological paralysis (and natural prohibition), hell - you saying we ain't got a cure for that? Oh, yeah - its outlawed

Crash Capitalism VS Circular Thinking (yes innovation was driven by this shit, but that was a long time ago - now good ideas are stamped out so that we can make more out of petroleum)

yo man, its fucked up, but as long as the majority of Americans still can eat, get gas, and work even at a shitty job, nothing is gonna happen. obviously revolution is the only option. the government on this side of the pond has put the fear into the minds of it's people since the end of WWII, and most people are fucking stupid ass sheep by now. i was talking to a friend, and we both came to the conclusion that nothing in the country is ever going to change until government buildings start blowing up, and politicians start getting sniped on their way to pick up their morning paper.

kind of fucked up, really fucked up, but you know, this is exactly what Timothy McVeigh wanted to do when he blew that building up. Shit is really serious now people, and honestly, im getting myself prepared for when the shit hits the fan over here.

The dollars is depreciating fast and gold/silver are going through the roof. At the same time China and Japan are both talking about getting rid of US Debt.

I am pretty sure our government is going to start losing their complete control sooner than they think. We just need to have everyone ready to jump up and start showing we aren't happy and we want some changes once the government is weakened.

And the younger generation needs to start voting!!! It was always funny and angering being on a college campus and hearing all of the kids bitch about the government and presidential candidates, then to have them go smoke some weed and play video games instead of voting when they actually have a chance to make their small difference.

...We put these people here we have to let them know that we are paying attention. And we don't like what we see.

I think we is a little too general, because we as a population elect a leader, but we as a weed smoking population didn't elect shit. Most weed smokers don't even have the balls to tell people the truth about weed, they don't want to be labeled as a stoner and fired or some shit, I can't totally blame them.

I don't think it would be possible for your comments to be further off base.
The current generation are a bunch of hypnotized droids. They know nothing about history, world or American. They know more about who's banging who on "Jersey Shore" than they do about their own history. They spend more time watching TV/movies and playing video games than anything else. They don't read books. They do nothing to protest the many outrages that are being perpetrated by corporate America and the government. Do you think they would have the balls to take to the streets and close down universities across the country to stop the Vietnam war, like we did? No! They are sanitized, anesthetized, and hypnotized. As long as they have a new gadget to play with every few months, they are happy. Big Brother has dominated their lives for so long, they know nothing else. Our personal freedoms have been castrated, but they don't know the difference, because they were born into it. I have a young couple who live nearby who I visit, and the female has never read a book in her life, and see's nothing wrong with that. Their information comes from movies, you tube or Google. I had co-workers who watch 4, 5, and 6 one hour TV shows per day! These people are never going to get up off their couches to protest anything. They are dumbfounded! Crippled from birth by the controlling media, and subjugated by their corporate hacks. They are stuck in this world, don't know anything else, and will never get out of it. Don't rock the boat, political correctness in all things, and if not, the man will be kicking in their doors. This country was built be revolutionaries, but that revolutionary spirit has been relegated to add campaigns and sound bytes.
A complete loss of privacy and total control by the nanny state, and they don't even notice, because it's all they've ever known. This country/empire peaked in the 50s-60s, the post World War II years, and has been in serious decline since. And it's getting worse every day.
I don't know what world you live in.

That's so sad. This is how they create criminals for the prison system to thrive I guess. Surely it cannot be they actually believe they are doing the right thing.

Can you elaborate? Is your implication that the dispensary owners en masse are mere well-intentioned venture capitalists trying to "do the right thing?"

That is fucking adorable. Like, 9 week old golden retriever puppy adorable.

Well my puppy loving friend. If I were to read his post in context I would see that he stated THEY (Government Agents) can not actually believe they are doing the right thing by the people.

OP said nothing about the character of dispensary owners, merely stated that en-mass bullying and threats towards all, DESPITE state law is not in the interests of the people, and the Federal government should stay the fuck out.

Life is often less adorable than it firsts appears.

October of 1990 I marched along with 1000's others from the White House to the steps of the Capital. I can't believe that was almost 21 years ago. On a federal level almost nothing has changed.

I take the long view, keep my head down and my crop a secret. It has gotten me this far and kept me "free" (depending upon how you define that word) From the looks of the op's post gonna have to stay that way for the future.

Sounding off and speaking up sounds real good in theory, but the federal boys will shut you up real quick. Better to be a shadow.

re;......Risking the appearance of boring and easy pessimism, can you direct me to the time when public outrage mattered sans Vietnam?

I just think you're asking a bit much of us. We have supervisors, you know. It's not as though we do what we want, or act as free people. We work 60 hour work weeks in corporations, and feel lucky to have it. We don't have time to address moral concerns. Our masters have caged us to be far removed from such things.

HYDROSUN - I like your signature quote
EDIT: AOD I am right fucking there with you

America has long since lost its stronger structures supporting associations.

Any group, fraternity, local club of old that Alexis DeToqueville would have claimed was the adhesive cure for American individualism and factional strife in upholding democracy, has long ago been wiped out or assimilated into factional interests as people became less and less of a neighbor to any and all things outside of their own propriety. Where are people intelligently conversing? Sadly not so often

I know of my own naivety, the sadder point being, I can't seem to find more intelligent people to surround myself with... I must admit, I walk around and yup, I see dulled people. And this should be one of the wiser areas in which to live, my 'leaders' are buffoons on the micro and the macro - 9 times out of 10

Where do you all look for intelligent conversation (or progressive debate) outside of a select few friends?

What could be set up and networked across the states to draw individuals and the youth back into the fluctuation of a post-modern consensus? Where do you direct your children!
