Well I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia after years of constant pain, misdiagnosises with no result and self-medication with a certain plant(non-canna). We have tried various approaches to treat my chronic pain (6-8 on pain scale; sleep is near impossible without meds) from inversion therapy, electrotherapy, physical therapy, lidocaine, muscle relaxers, NSAID's and anti-convulsants.

Since I am young no doctors would like to treat me effecitvely, since what works, is not the best choice for younger people. However, I finally found doctors who would treat me and are utilizing narcotic pain meds since they work. Just so you guys know, I could care less about addiction as living in constant pain makes me consider suicide. To tired to move and in to much pain to try and do anything.

More to the point, I've been smoking for many years for the depression and anxiety I get. After running out of pain meds, I noticed that Cannabis actually made my pain worse! Edibles made sleeping unbearable. Smoking would cause discomfort in my back.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking about making hash oil than glycerin extracts so I can make a topical rub or be able to vaporize in public. Looking for any suggestions to utilize the medical effects of Canna.

I find it all depends on the strain and maturity of the buds. are you growing your own?

I also find it hard to trust a dispensary because there really is no sure way of knowing what kind of weed you're getting from them...but, if I eat a mature indica, I fall right asleep. If I eat an immature sativa, I fidget, get all paranoid, twitch even - and there will be NO sleep.

I hope you find a cut that works for you. I was addicted to k-pins for a few years, and after finding the right kind of weed for me I am off the pharmas, productive and happy.

peace

Yes I grow my own, and typically had cut relatively early to fit my grow style. I will try some more mature plants and see i there was any benefit. Thanks for the advice.

I know your asking for canna relief ideas but I want to mention a topical anti inflammatory that works well for me and many others who have tried it.It is called PENNSAID-it helps many types of issues from arthritis to spinal pain (for me and those I know) the medium that it uses to get the medication part deep into the area needed-works EXTREMELY well.

If the hash oil does not work well enough topically-maybe see if you can find out if DMSO (the medium that penetrates the skin) would work with the oil you have....or try the PENSSAID if nothing else works.,

I understand all too well the situation of pondering suicide frequently due to never waking without pain-soul crushing and I myself will try anything once as I imagine you might as well.

I apologize for mentioning a non- canna relief but if you have no luck...it might be worth trying.I hope you can find some relief!

I have fybro as well as bipolar2 disorder. I have been on EVERYTHING. I used to wash down 6-8mg of klonopin, 20mg of Ambien CR, excess tylenol PM's, Lyrica, hard opiates, and a tramadols with a 5th of goose. Smoking constantly dulled the pain and then cranial sacral therapy and some vitamins have me living upright and reasonably happy. not everything in life is perfect, and I dont feel like did when I was 25, but I lived a life and have the scars to prove it. eating cannabis is the most effective for chronic pain. sativa dominant crosses like white Rhino, russian, and other "white" crosses are high in CBD's and CBN's seem to help a lot of people with energy and pain relief. Indica's keep me from a melt down, while it helps my appetite, relax and rest. drink kangen water, check out true-hope "EMpower+ vitamins. It is believed that manic depression and chronic pain are related to nutrient deficiencies just like plants! walk when you can. stand up as much as you can. DO NOT do any heavy workouts or weight lifting. get a bicycle. take up a mild outdoor hobby. keep your mind busy and you won't think nearly as much about pain, depression, or dying. I been there. the drugs will mess with your head and body it doesnt know what to do with all this stuff. I was a suicidal walking corpse for 3 years.. I'm a successful business owner, action shooter, 35+ BMX racing, and I just built my first race pistol. Are you male or female? I'm a male and it is rare for men to contract fybro. my mother has MS, and my brother has rheumathoid arthritis... all related.

GreenMachine- I respect everyones opinion but you dont know how much I'm smoking now or how I react subjectively. Obviously you dont understand the nature of this problem.

Everyone else- Thank you very much for your responses and support, I greatly appreciate it since things feel like they just continue to get worse.

The main thing is I used to do everything under the sun...fishing, hunting, kayaking, gun-smithing, longboarding/racing, surfing and worked a physical job. I used to mask the pain with opium poppies for years, but finally had stopped and realized the intensity of the problem.. Now I really cant do anything since I cant stand for long periods anymore. I have mild disk bulging and early osteoarthritis w/DDD which makes my pain pretty unbearable at times, even with the Percocet.

I am living with similar conditions regarding fibro BB, it was brought on by a case of lyme disease, not fun... I feel you br0. Messed up my aortic valve, so I got a new one :) Anyway, I go for acupuncture and rikki when I can afford to, they both definitely help temporarily. If I went regularly, it would be better but $$$ can be an issue. I find that indica is a huge help in making heavy pain subside. I have Limon (ECSD x Chitral) and it's exactly what it takes after a few liquid advil. If possible, stay as active as possible, it's a must. Even if it's just a little walk every few hours. Agape'

Luckily theres stairs in my houses so I climb about 200 stairs a day haha. I've found some indicas better than others(kushes), but I think a big problem comes from harvesting early. I'm gonna try harvesting much later.

My boyfriend, and you seem to have some similar symptoms/causes. He can smoke doobie after doobie, and gets little relief. Recently been experimenting with very strong topical cannabis. Topicals seem to be the only things that shut off his fibro, arthritis, and nerve pain. Currently making a balm that is 4% iso or other concentrate. Sativa strains seem to work best for his topical pain relief, but purple kush is his strain of choice for smoking. I have plans to make a 8-10% concentration cream when I next crop, and also going to use trim from a variety of strains to get a multidemensional effect. Hopefully the strong cream will give him many hours of relief. It's also great for inflammation.

To make a really nice body butter, I melt beeswax in a double boiler, add 1/2 coconut oil 1/2 olive oil, heat for 10 min add concentrate and mix well. Take off heat and beat with cake mixer until cool and silky textured.

I'm not sure if I have fibro or not, I'm 20 years old and undiagnosed male. However I have severe chronic nerve pain in my hands, arms, and neck, with mild pain in shoulders and legs. I feel for you, the depression is the worst part about pain. Thing is, cannabis isn't truly going to relieve nerve pain. I think it's best use it as an anti-depressant, I use it to be able to cope better mentally. However when I smoke cannabis a lot I tend to get in to bad habits such as eating bad foods, and becoming lazy and passive.

My suggestion to you is no matter what make sure you never run out of your pain medication early. It's better to use 1 less pill on one day even if you need the relief, then have no pills at all the next day.

The only advice I can really give you is to try to become mentally stronger, believe it or not it's truly possible to do this. I know, I was a suicidal mental head case for a year and a half, but I've been following the teachings of Franz Bardon - Initiations In To Hermetics for a while now, and it's helped me a lot. (you can get the pdf book file with a quick google search)

It's technically a book about magic, but if you actually follow his first steps, the exercises help A LOT! If you check it out, you might want to skip his theory section, and go right down to his exercises. But you must follow them word for word.

First he will teach you how to meditate, and after a while you will get so good at this it's possible to meditate on seperating your mind from your body. You can also practice a meditation exercise on focusing on blocking your nerves from sending the pain signals. If you don't believe me just do a google search, people have been meditating for chronic pain for centuries. This combined with opioid therapy can be very powerful.

Another exercise he will teach you is to how to use your subconscious to your advantage. If you think of only happy thoughts before you go to sleep, and right when you wake up, then this will truly effect your whole life for the better.

But what it comes down to is having the discipline, and really giving it a shot. If you eat healthy, stretch your body, take care of your body and mind, then you can fight chronic pain in a much better way. Obviously keep taking the opiates, and cannabis if you want to. But it's a better long term solution to train your mind.

At least it worked for me... I turned from a very mean pessimistic and suicidal person, to an optimistic and genuinely happy guy. And I experience pain almost every moment of the day, it just doesn't mentally effect me any more!

Good luck dude.

48 yr old males with Fibromyalgia x Myofascil Pain Syndrome and Degenerative joint disease on top of Diabetes and IBS.I am currently on 480mg of oxycontin daily,90mg Roxicodone daily and 300mg Nucyenta daily and 40mg Marinol daily and 45 units of 70/30 before each meal.My Pain Doc is a DO so he does some chiropractical stuff too.I found that Lyrica works great in synch with the oxys but a side effect made me stop using it.It made my vision burry and I couldnt read.I rely on caption to watch the tube as I am deaf besides.Stay away from SSRI's as they help little and the side effects(not being able to pop a nut) was too much to continue.I smoke couchlock indica when and if I can find any.I am able to grow this year and have some Grape Skunk,White Russian and vanilla kush to go outide and 5 different strains for inside.I let them go till 80% amber triches and this should help you in the sleep and pain issue.Let them go a week or 2 longer.Good luck my friend....Peace and One Love BigD:wave:

Wow, another one. I hope that you are sharing your canna success with your local Lymies. Canna makes the difference, hence my sig.

BB, hang in there man. I have had good luck in mixing oil with the topical analgesic Celadrin Cream, and applying topically. Eat it, drink it smoke it, vape it...keep ingesting as much as you can. Try some autoflowers, I know many chronic pain folks, including myself that benefit particularly well from the cannabinoid profile some bring to the table.

Most of all, keep your chin up, keep moving, and never stop trying new ways of bringing yourself comfort.

I really appreciate the responses guys, its hard to talk to people that dont understand since they think i'm fine. I'm glad to see topical applications work better for people and will proceed to do that with this next crop of The Prophet. I let her go a week longer than usual and was about 50% amber.

I think my main problem stems from early degenerative disk with osteoarthritis which makes it much more uncomfortable. I'm gonna make my recipe from Green&Gold's recipe(colors of my high school haha). Another problem is me smoking buds that were pulled early, it probably adds to the pain.

Well keep the responses coming!! I'd like to hear about everyone's experiences.

Letting it go longer helped my pain issue. Diet also helps. Now that my wife figured out that her body doesn't handle dairy well , she quit dairy and feels better. Maybe you are allergic or intolerant to one of the foods you eat regularly.
