Guerilla Grow Group Thread 2011

Clunk, that's a great idea by planting 2 and just training them away from each other. I never even considered it because I don't see the plants very often, but like you said with the stakes would work great. thanks for the idea K+

why use bamboo tho? there's MILLIONS of stakes growing EVERYWHERE lol one less thing to cart in.

When training with the stakes, just plant the clones as far apart as possible in the hole, then stick the stakes in the ground like a big
\ / and as the plants grow bigger, you use a few wraps of electrical tape to secure the stems to the stakes everytime the leader starts growing up. It's a miminum effort form of LST training. When harvest time rolls around, you might need to add more stakes to support the weighted plants.

I don't bother cutting stakes in the bush, it's simply a matter of time restraints. I'll need to cut at least 250 stakes just to get things going, then probably double that in the fall when the plants are flowering and I need to keep them from collapsing to the ground under the weight. I'd rather buy the bamboo stakes bulk from my grow store and spend the time I save tending to the plants in other ways; pruning, training etc.
Also, the bamboo stakes last for several seasons and are all the same length, straight as an arrow and easy to bundle together and stash under a tree over the winter.

We each have to grow with what is best for our own situation. Where I am at there are lots of straight dogwood and willows to cut for free stakes. I understand that what I have in abundance others may be begging for.

I have a HARD time understanding --having grown up blessed in the deep dark earth of Iowa - why anyone preps holes months ahead of time AND then carries in monumental amouts of peat, perlite, compost, etc, etc...

I also have a hard time understanding why my grows are frozen out two weeks before halloween while others eagerly anticipate sparking a spicy haze just before cooking the turkey's goose.

I learn a lot here, nearly every time I come.

Grow, my brothers, grow!

good shit guys. You are liable to get shot running around in peoples cow pastures. That is perfectly acceptable practice where i live

30N here

Just started around 80 fem seeds for guerrilla and friends properties. Didnt have time to sex them before i put them out so decided to go the fem route. All the seeds except like 3 didnt pop and are just now sprouting the soil. Got a little behind and wish i could have started them earlier. Plan on putting them out after maybe 3 weeks of 15-9 under a 1000w light. They are in some tiny 3 inch square pots at the moment. Gonna stick them in holes with rainforest mix from sunshine mixed in with some native soil. This soil is supposed to retain water well. I will also throw some water crystals in there. I also get the 3 months straight of 100 degrees so hopefully they can stay hydrated.

Anyone tried any of the following beans:
Ch9:
jack 33
nl5hz x jack 33
aroma
pg13

Dinafem:
royal haze
moby dick
santa sativa
super silver haze
cloud 9

Wish me luck for no herms

Whats up dalonghorn? Sounds like you're in the great state of Texas! Good luck man.. I've seen some great soil and sun down there. Lots of folks think it's just desert, but if you're near the gulf it's very tropical.

Howdy Claude; I will try out the "new" digi next time in. Some of these strains I haven't grown in or out so its a "let's see" kinda deal. As many have mentioned severe climate changes make this a real challange, esp. water usage. Cause it really blows carrying water and on 100+F days you'll question your sanity, lol. I have some 90+ days comin and will go in right after. Peace Bad...
Oh and watch those Bulls!!

What's up everyone? Thanks for joining in with your adventures.

Here's a funny story...
I have to cross a few cow pastures to get to the glory hole patch. Now I don't have much experience dealing with cattle, and neither does my dog, but she's an australian shepherd, the breed was bred for herding livestock. She's a good guard dog who keeps a look out while I tend the plants.

Well, this last trip across the pasture as I crested a hill, there are 2 huge bulls and the whole herd of cows with their babies. My dog was calm, but wary. The mother cows and 2 bulls stopped grazing, lowered their heads, stiffened their shoulders, they appeared very aggressive (protecting their young I imagine). As I tried to make a very wide circle around them with my little dog, 4 of them started to charge. My dog went in after them, flanking the herd, and forcing them to retreat. I was pretty scared, and a little worried about my dog, but she came out a champ, a priceless grow buddy and loyal defender.

Here's a picture moments after the encounter, she seems quite pleased with herself.

Hello Guerrilla bothers,

I've been pushed to grown in no-mans land this year, been doing some research, preprations and digging, but what will happen at the end still is a big uncertainty.

Wishing y'll a bumper year of quality nugs and no rippers

Hi everyone... I think my girls are starting to flower early... I didn't realize there's a difference between 14 hours of indoor light vs 14 hours of daylight.

Not alot happening yet, it's still early =]

Stay safe fellow guerillas

This bubble gum went out a few days ago into a real sunny spot.

There isn't a big difference but if you were under 14 in; you may have started to "trigger" them.(If you went from 18 down to 14) The decrease must be gradual or you'll get early bloom and then re-veg which wastes growth switching back and forth. Since there isn't much to be done other than trim off the eventual buds and see em through to the fall.

Ok, I'll bring this thread up again. Seems pretty dead.

Finally summer has come and some of my biggest plants are planted outdoors. Weather has been excellent, mostly warm (day temps around 15 - 20c) and sunny, some rain just enough, not too much or too little!
And heat wave suppose to come next week and if that's about to come true I believe plants will explode :D

Pehkuruder, it's local cross but I can't remember the genetics correctly so Im not gonna spread any bullshit around. Propably some Lowryder in it....

All babies are girls, it's better let them show sex before putting them outdoors. Saves a lot of work!

Keep this thread alive guys!

Happy growing everyone and stay safe

What's up fellow guerillas? It's been hot as hell in these parts, temps 90-95 this last week. We're hoping for some rain this weekend.

A little update from sadsmiley's neck of the woods.

These plants look like they're in flower, at least they are shooting out lots of pistils. Is this normal? No calyx's yet just lots of pistils.

I made the mistake of starting plants inside and transplanting in late April. Next time I'll just start them in the bush. It was too much trouble anyhow.

These 4 plants are 4-4.5ft tall right now, they are white widow grown from seed

If these guys are in full flower, could I top dress with bloom nutrients and let them finish? Or should I keep with veg nutes and count on a reveg?

Here's bubblegum that was planted a few weeks later than the WW's.

And here's some native plant camoflauge :)

I'm popping some more seeds right now to go directly outside in a few weeks. No more starting indoors for me.

Stay safe everyone. Keep em green!

Season has ended, well nearly....

Season has ended, well nearly....

It's getting wet and cold around here up north. But my growing season was quite satisfying. I still have two plants outside and temps are +10c daytime and drops down to +3c at night.
