Update - Day 7 Bloom

A small update day 7 of bloom. Plants still not liking ec over 0.4 but I might try to SLOWLY push it up to 0.6 over the next week and see how they react. Growth is good with no signs of deficiency.

The plants in the back of the room are exploding and growing much faster than the ones near the entrance of the room. Why? I believe it's the nearness of the reflective material to the plant. The girls near the entrance are about 2 feet from the reflective material covering the entrance and entrance wall where in the back of the room the girls are right next to the reflective material, increasing the amount of light available to the plants.

Clawing that low would lead me to believe it is genetics, blueberry and its crosses tend to do this naturally quite a bit.

Thanks for stoppin by PuReKnOwLeDgE... I think you are right, it must be genetics. I've also noticed something interesting about this pheno. Only the very top leaves claw (new growth) then they eventually flatten out.

Do you have any experience with genetics like these? Do I push them until the tips burn or keep the ec low?

Looking at them pictures i cannot for the life of me think why you would want to up the nutrients.

They look like some of the happiest plants ive seen in a long time, my advice would be, if it isn't broke don't try to fix it.

I also can't wait to see how much they stretch... first time growin these ladies and I don't know what to expect from this pheno.

I've thought about putting in screens but can't figure out a good way to do it. My AKs are crazy in there but never had many issues lightly pruning and tying up the branches.

Maybe on my next run I'll install a screen on one or two of the plants to test it out and see what happens. The biggest issue is installing the screens in such a way that allows me to get behind them and train the plants. The room is tight as it is and I can only stand in the middle since the walls are permanent and immobile.

Day 11 Bloom... not a huge update but they are growing fast. Started tucking larger fan leaves on the SLHs.

EC = 0.4, ph=5.8, solution=69degF

This is a pic of the fastest grower one day after I tucked back all of the large fan leaves to expose more bud sites.

In the pic below, the back left plant was the unknown strain but I'm pretty sure it's one of my AKs.

It looks like, for the most part that they are doing well. Stretch seems to be slowing down except for a few tops that are passing the lower branches quickly. Was able to push the ec up to 0.5 without ill affect.

The girls are trying to tell me something though. The edges on some of the lower sucker leaves are beginning to curl up and taco.

i saw burning tips in da photos..why?? with such a low EC?
also i ve noticed that clawing you said..im almost sure that is for genetics.
i compare with mine , i dont have burns like yours with 1,2 EC.

BTW nice bushy plants..you are lucky with streching..
they come nicely..

tjo: you are right... there is some tip burning but I don't think it is due to high ec rather it's caused by the beginnings of a Calcium def. I let the room go for about a week without checking on them and when I got back the ec was at 0.0 (around 39ppm) and the tips were burning so I'm assuming that it's a deficiency. Boosted up the ec to 0.5 for a few days and everything is looking good.

It's crazy to me to have such a low ec but I guess I'll save money on nutrients if I grow this one out again.

The only issue now is the taco-ing leaves which very well may be due to low ec during the week I was gone.

Day 28 Update:

Holding steady at 0.5 ec, ph = 5.8, solution temp = 68-69 deg F

Leaves folding upwards (taco-ing) is subsiding with increased ec this past week.

SLH stems are very sturdy in my setup. Not much tying up needed just yet. De-leaf experimenting on the rear two plants but no real opinion as of this time.
