I heard that before you harvest, you should flush w/ water & molasses mixed. What is the ratio? Does it help?

1/2 a tsp per Gal.

There are many people that will say it helps alot, there are somepople that say your just feeling your plant empty carbs and surger.

From info i have picked up over the lest few years is, start molasses every 3erd water few weeks into flower then flush with it a few times.
From exp i Cant say it does to much, but like i said there are alot of people that use it everygrow and are so sure it adds weight and resin.

So why not try?

p.S Mix it with a little warm.

Molasses is best used throughout the flowering process to keep brix levels up. It will help the plant make the compounds responsible for flavor as well as increasing resin coverage/stickyness. This translates into better taste and bud which retains the "sticky" quality once dry.

It can be used during flush however plain water is best for the last 3-5 days of flush. The idea is the plant should already have fully benefited from the molasses prior to being flushed and already contains peak flavor which won't benefit from extra sugar sweet taste.

My flushing strategy/schedule in coco pots is:

Dripclean every watering from day one to final watering.

Very minimal run off at any point, (maybe 10% which is just left in the tray under the pot and partially reabsorbed anyway).

10 day flush:

Day 1-5: 2.5ml per gallon molasses 1ml per gallon 12% humic acid and dripclean 1.1ml per gallon.

Day 6-10: Plain water w/dripclean.

Keep ph balanced throughout and so long as the plants were not over fertilized (I stay under 2.0 ec nutrients) the plants will easily use up the remaining nutrients both in the medium and in the fan leaves. I get fantastic results, clean strong flavor, nice white ash.

Rather than running heavy nutrients for longer and doing a flush with lots of runoff the same yield and results can be achieved by just starting the flush a bit earlier and letting the plant use up the nutrients left by avoiding runoff.

Molasses has lots of mag in it as well as several nutrients. it depends a lot on the brand of molasses. i wouldnt use it during flush at all. just my opinion. using a more hollow source of carbs like carbo load, sweet, or plain white sugar probably wouldnt be as bad during flush.

Are you organic or other?
No need for it. It won't help the flush. And you are not feeding the plant the carbs. You are feeding the bacteria, which, if given the time, will make the carbs available for plant uptake.
Late flower we aim for a fungal dominant soil. Maybe molasses (by itself) would be counterintuitive.

Molasses for flush has been suggested to me. I don't see any reason for it. I don't know nuffin about no brix tho (I don't really care to do testing. I let my microberd test and fix)
Screw that earth juice molasses tho. @ 12$. Sheesh
Grab some wholesome organics blackstrap.
Organics needs no flush
But if u do decide to do it... 1.5 tbsp per gall max

There seems to be a lot of leeway both in dosage and results. But what the hay, I tried the batshit and I got stinkier buds, so why not. Don't see where it would hurt, I'm four weeks ino bud, doesn't sound too late from what I am reading.:kitty:

I know what empty carbs and sugar have done to me
and I can only hope it does the same thing to my buds - hahaha
