The old fashioned way was when 50% of the hairs turn brown. The new fashion way is a scope or magnifying glass that does at least 30X (I find anything over 100X to be rather useless) and check the resin head's color. They start clear, go cloudy and then amber. The 50 day flower period suggests an indica (sativas go 120 and more) Did you chose it because you prefer a couchlock stone to an energetic high or, did you chose it simply for the short flowering period? Purely clear is too early. Predominantly cloudy will lessen the couchlock. Half amber will increase the couchlock.

Radio Shack has a nice, inexpensive hand held, pocket size scope in the $15-$20 range.

I wouldnt take it before day 55.
Lately, due to time issues, I've been pulling my ladies a tad early (58 instead of 60-65, took a sativa dominant lady down at 64, shoulda let her go to 70) and it SUCKS
Yield and potency really comes together in the last week or so. Don't be impatient
if you have the option to let her go!

As FreezerBoy said, check your trichs under a scope. You can pick up a 30x jewelers loupe on amazon for under $5 shipped.

not ready by my standards...even BOG strains advertise 54 days and i wouldnt even say thats totally ready.

unless your pumpin out some beasters to sell and you dont mind......every bud ive chopped before 8 weeks ive been dissapointed in, they are good and will get you high, but for that knock out coated in frost type of nuggetry im letting them go long.....

im also growing blackberry from clone here is mine around day 58...give your girls another week trust me..BB is a pretty fast finisher she has good frost by day 50...but not caked frost.

Flush! looks like its got too much fertalizer already, your def gonna want to stop feeding them and give them only plain water for at least a week, personally i think 7 weeks is too short for ANY strain! they always taste better and get you higher if you go a week or two past the growers recomendations, but you need a magnafying glass to harvest right, or your just guessing, and thats no fun

I like how you are doing this. Getting the kinks out is a great idea to start. I vegged mine too long for my first grow and things got out of control.

You are using a lot less light than the sun. Don't go grow by a calendar, grow by how they look. That plant is still making lots of new growth. Remember, commercial growers will always chop a plant down way before a connoisseur grower(think of this when you get advice). If you run this plant again, I would cut back the food sooner so she ends up much less green. I like them to ride out on the energy that is stored. Happy growing!
