Hey everybody i was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with using the lucas formula with fox farms soil and if so what is a good ph to go for and how often did you water? Heres a pic of my new setup under a 600w with a drip system the soil is fox farms.

Thanks in advance for the replies. And FYI im using the modified lucas formula at 6ml/9ml per gallon of water and my fox farms soil is amended with 25-30% extra perlite.

Okay so i think i just read the formula im using is for coco? so maybe i should switch to the 8ml/16ml original K.I.S.S. method. Any insight on this subject would be helpful. I'm just a newb trying to find a cheap nute regime.

Hovz, run the 8ml/16ml but maybe work up to it gradually. Start at about 600PPM, and water, water, fert.
See how they like it.
Then move up the PPM scale about 150PPM or so, each time you fert. See how they like it.
If you don't have a PPM pen, then, just cut back on the ml/gal ratio and build it up slowly.
FF soil is pretty good in early stages by itself so a little goes a long way.

If you're using a reservoir you can also add back water to reduce your PPM's as you go, not to over fert, then replenish ferts to accomplish the same as above.

Hope this helps.

I've heard i could use either formula with success. And i do have a ppm pen but it needs to be calibrated.

So there yah go, just need to calibrate pen with solution and you're in biz.

Alright and i do use a reservoir so i could add back tap water ph'ed to 6.5 to lessen the ppm. I hope my plants respond well to the nutes and start growing fast. I might supplement later on in flowering with snow storm ultra, kool bloom and gravity right before the flush. Or i might just stick with the base nutrient maybe only kool bloom to try to dense the nugs up. Anyways thanks for the help bud hope i can get it dialed in.

coco coir tends to absorb calcium and magnesium, wich are essential to plant growth, and that is why the ratio of the flora micro to flora bloom is much higher for coco, the micro is what has all the magnesium and calcium, so it makes sense to add more of that to a mix that will naturally absorb some of it right off the bat. it's also diluted because of the frequency of feedings with coco. if you are using fox farms soil then you would probably see best results using the standard 8/16 solution. if your plants are under 3 weeks old from seed, or were just transplanted to fox farm soil they would get straight water because the fox farm soil has a lot of nutes in it already, also seedlings don't need nutes. after the first 3 weeks i give them half strength for a few feedings, so for flora 4/8ml, gradually getting up to full dosage(8/16)

i am growing in pure happy frog, with nothing but maxi bloom at various strengths depending on what strain is getting fed. my happy frog was around ph 5 when i got it, so i just mix everything up and get it to about 6.8 -7 ph and then water. i'm under 400w of hps with ak47, chemdog ibl, and ogkush all at day 33 flowering, i always water at ph 7ish and my crop is extremely lush and healthy. the higher than usual ph of the water counteracts the low ph of fox farms soil, and puts the runoff in the right range for marijuana(5.8ish). i am lucky i guess and my tap water ph is pretty high, almost 8, so i don't need to add any ph up, but chances are you may need some to get it in that 6.8 to 7 ph range.

when you run out of the nutes you are using you should def give maxi bloom a try, it's the exact same lucas formula, but cheeper and easier to mix, because everything is in one powder, vs 2 seperate liquids, you just take the little scoop and pull a level teaspoon out and mix it into a gallon of water...don't think i'll ever switch out for sheer simplicity and top notch quality. don't know if you have been to this page but if you want to use lucas formula it's pretty much essential. http://lucasformula.com/
