Pot tipped over

One of my girls fell about 10 inches off her pedestal and a bunch of dirt and perlite and shit went all over the buds. It's all stuck in the resin and now I don't know if it's even gonna be good to smoke
Has anybody had that happen, and what did you do to get that crap outta there and make the buds smokable again? Thanks!

Try to mist the debris off would be my first thought(if environmental conditions allow.) If not you could pick off a lot of it with some tweezers.

Damn, hate it when that happens. You can brush off the dry trash with a soft brush. Be careful with the sprays, you don't want bud rot, mold or mildew.

If it's too bad to smoke, consider an iso alcohol extraction. The higher the percentage of alcohol, the less water to dissolve the trash. I'd get 99.5% iso if you can find it.

Thanks for the reply's guys. Disco I was thinking about spraying with water but unfortunately that same plant was also developing some bud rot so I wanted to try to avoid anything watery. Compost, tweezers might be it, the problem is the dirt particles are like the size of trich's and freaking everywhere, it would probably take me about 2 weeks to get it all out but that might be my best option. ISO is a last resort too I guess, but seems a waste for all the bud I'd be giving up to get like 1/4 of hash. Damn my fumbly hands!

Sounds pretty bad, sorry. If you go the extract route, consider straining through a coffee filter.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I'd try to get as much off as I can but if you had to smoke a little dirt I don't think it would be all that bad for you, might taste funky but we inhale lots of dust and thing all day. My friend smoked a fly once, he's still alive.

What about one of those compressed air cans made to air out keyboards? If I recall, they also come with a tiny red nozzle attachment for precision.

This is actually what I tried the day it happened. The air got a few specs of it, but all the really nasty crap is deep in there and the bud is so sticky it's not strong enough to blow em out. I did try though!

Yep I think if I want to get anything outta this is what I'm gonna have to do.

So due to mold concerns, I had to chop my girls about 7 days earlier than I wanted to yesterday, and when I cut that one down I dipped the affected buds in water and swished em around a bit. Doing that actually removed a fair amount of the bigger pieces of dirt and perlite, however there is still a lot of debris left in there. I think I'm going to just chalk it up as a loss and made some hash out of it at this point. Let this be a lesson to all you soil growers, don't let the your pot fall and get dirt on your buds or you will regret it!

I would think a good water cure would be your best bet, it should remove almost all the dirt and crap while only diminishing the final product a little bit

just read your previous post. Try doing a proper water cure, not just swishing it around in water. let the bud sit in water for 5-7 days, changing the water daily
