I just harvested some, an 11 week pheno, and it's been kicking my ass daily! It's seriously 1-hit shit. I got a QP out of a 250.

Hows it going, here's my two cents on Hashberry and Satori from Mandala.

Grew these out last year. First off i noticed a poor female to male ratio, but never mind that. Grew the plants indoors in soil, picked mothers and ran some in hydro then. The hashberry grown in soil was one of my favourite smokes out of thirty plus strains i've grown personally, there was an amazing high off it, i used get a great sensation of weightlessness in my arms and legs after smoking this. The satori on the other hand never got me going at all, it was a disappointment. These strains anyway yield and more importantly have a better high when grown in soil from my experience.

I have been reading a lot about Mandala seeds that they have been putting out bad gear hear lately .i do not know if thy had a bad mix up or if they don't give a shit any more. build up a base and slack off once once we made our money. i was going to buy some of there sativa strains but i am glade i did not now. Evan though they are cheaper then most seed vendors. good luck and hope you have better luck next time.

Unfortunately seeds are a crap shoot. I don't think its just seeds its genetics in general. Look at jessica simpson and her sister.

I've had HORRIBLE results from major breeders. Everything I got from Mr. Nice was complete shit. Sensi has burned me terrible. lots of major companies have fucked me good.

Ironically the only big company to never let me down was Reeferman prior to his move to A'dam. Nowadays all you hear about is how shitty reeferman genes are.

Unfortunately without extreme care, every new batch of seeds produced is a bit different, and the seed packs don't have a "born on" date so you never really know what batch your seeds came from.

I have a pack of Jamaican Blue Mountain from Cannabiogen that has a "best before" date o the pack. It seems like more seed companies should do this.

Meant to say sorry about the Mandala, IL. I just went through the same thing with some SAGE beans. Sucks.

Just a little update since this thread was topped. I finally finished speed queen, only took 13 or maybe 14 weeks to finish, I lost count. Yield was low, bag appeal was very good, the smoke was moderate potency with a very uninteresting high. I smoked a few joints then passed in on to a friend.

After this last grow I doubt I'll ever touch mandala genetics again, I have no space to waste on shitty pheno's.

your right that's a good idea to put born on date but i guess its too much for the breeders to do. it looks like they would want the same thing so they could keep track of breeding dates. and if thay wher not sold with in a year they need to be replaced.

I learned my lesson from mandala a couple years back. hashberry should be called hermberry. and mandala one was some garbage, reminded me of mexican brick weed but with less smell and trichromes. altho I did get lucky with one of there freebies safari mix, found a unique high yielding plant. still, would never spend a dime on a mandala gene again, wouldnt grow um if they were given to me and would only give um to my enemies.

My seeds are from 2007 I dont know if that makes a difference, I know satori has been tweaked since then, better or worse Im not sure.

There's a few distinct phenos of Satori.

I had a couple of the wispy never-finishing ones you describe.

Also had a couple decent phenos, fairly average all around - not bad not great, one was tall and one was short.

And then there was the keeper...

Great yield (> 2o per plant easily), fast finisher, great taste and smell, super resinous, almost no fans a pleasure to trim, etc, etc.

These are the 5 Satori girls I had from a 10 pack. From left to right, it's the short average one, tall average one, two craptastic wispy now extinct space wasters, and last on the right is the keeper, still running that one.

I'd guess sometimes it takes more than one pack to find a keeper pheno of Satori, but its worth it. It's definitely a favorite of several of my friends.

I had some white satin and some satori but sold em off awhile back. I usually will never let a new strain be the dominant force in any garden until its proven itself over many successful generations. I read grow report after grow report and try to get a good idea how the strain performs.

Sorry to hear bout the bad fortune, but i think alot of us have been there. I know you have the skills cause ive seen the blueberry and warlock youve grown. Keep some proven strains on the go and only introduce one new strain in the mix at a given time. i know its not ideal for good representation of that given strain (to only have one female),but it beats having the low yields and set backs.

Wow... now that they just doubled the price on the Satori beans this is not good news! I just ordered a pack, so hopefully I will find a keeper. I've been looking at Satori for awhile now but since I have Apollo 11 it wasn't a big priority for me. I recently grew out some RMS beans that had a really nice spicy/woody thing going on but were otherwise shit. I then read that you can get some of that smell and flavor with Satorri and that pushed me over the edge. Hopefully it works out for me!

Couldn't have said it any better.

Well I guess I got lucky because I grew a Satori plant last season and I'm smoking it right now and it's an honest to goodness legitimate one hitter. It's so potent that at onset, it sometimes gives me teeth chattering shivers. It has a very heavy sort of creep at first and then your mind adjusts and all of a sudden, everything's clear. Very cerebral, creative, thought provoking high. You can solve problems with Satori. You can come up with ideas on Satori. It's the weed of shamans.

I never realized there were so many duds with this strain. The one I grew was a skyrocket pheno. I've got one in the tent right now, a week into flower so we'll see how this one turns out.

Y'all have me worried!
Running HB, SQ, Satori and M#1, from seeds bought around '07-'08 I think.
Stored in the fridge, 100% germination.

SQ and HB are nice and stocky, Satori a bit more Sativa-ish and stretchy, and the M#1 is just kind of weedy looking- definitely the runt of the litter.

They are all about a month old, outdoors in soil. Have had a chilly, overcast spring, but lately they've been really picking up.

Rubbing stems, the SQ have almost no smell at all, the HB vary between fruity and skunky, with one a bit cheesy. Some of the Satori have a bit of tropical fruitiness, and the M#1 are just kind of generic MJ smelling.

I've heard great things about all these strains, as well as lousy things.

Hopefully I'll be back here this Fall saying what great genetics Mandala has!

Wow, I've been worshipping Satori from afar, never to attain the seed- now since the price increase, albeit minor, I hesitate- I have only so much time and so few holes... Two years ago I'd about died for a pack 'cause I love the "smart weeds"...

I grew out Hashberry only to get a great looking heavy plant with no buzz- well kinda a buzz above the left eyebrow semi-head ache... How I hoped for some pain relief.

Oh Mandala both praise and disappointment???

Ulysses- dont be discouraged about Satori. Just get 2 packs and grow 5 from each pack, (a whole pack total.) Depending of what youre looking for pull the "super short stocky ones" or "the tall stretchy ones" in veg. Plant the remaining seeds. Just dont reveg them she wont come out the same. CLONE EVERYTHING that grows as potential keep.

Having said that, I dont run her any longer. Once I found Panama from CBG/Ace... better high, just as good a yield, and AWESOME SMELL... and very few leaves on my keeper.

Hey thank you for that tip one Q. I'm always on the hunt for great Sativas so let me ask you a question.

On the popular seed bank that I use, Panama is listed under Cannabiogen Seeds and Ace Seeds. Which seedbank should I buy from if I'm looking for that green pheno?

They're out of stock of normal Panama beans right now but I might try the feminized ones. Yeah I'm always dubious of feminized (had some hermies before) but it's either now or next summer for me.

Nevermind One Q. I found the answer from dubi in the Ace Seed forum.

"Both panama versions are the same right now. Panama seeds that cannabiogen and ace seeds have been distributing till now came from same stock. New panama stock we are working to produce right now will be shared between both companies."
