How much would you pay for a clone?

L

longearedfriend

a few hundred... or a thousand

I totally understand though... but I feel it goes hand in hand with the profit commercial grows can get\westernized way of life

its like accepting to pay 6oo$ for an oz
if people accept to pay it, then it will become standard

I just feel that you people that are willing to pay that much either have a lot of money and or... make big profit growing

I understand the price of high quality marijuana today and the time you save by buying a good clone

I understand that guys that are growing commercially need to make some money, because of the risk... of course! why risk years for minimal money

I sort of feel that paying for herb goes against what the herb stands for
-for me at least-

Some folks are lucky that they dont have to pay for elite cuts. Some folks aren't lucky enough to be offered an opportunity of ANY kind to acquire truly great plants...

This is a great point... my apologies brother, didn't mean anything negative.

$0 dont matter what it is.

Especially from a ransom source.

I never deal with people that charge, all cuts from me are free and I get that in return.

I feel your pain. If it wasn't for a freak chance encounter where someone gifted me a Green Crack mother, I would still be going mad popping beans, looking for something that shines.

I don't charge for clones, and I'd prefer to have them gifted to me as well. I gave an ounce of GC for the cutting, I thought that was fair.

Ive spent 1g+ on a single plant (2 rooted clones/copies).... used that plant (MTF) to "get into the circle" and was then able to trade/acquire a whole nother slew of PROVEN QUALITY genetics. that 1g was a great investment.

MTF is the only clone i would pay that much money for personally. Was offered a cut for 5k but there was no way i was going to pay that kind of money for a cut... but i woulda paid 1k. On top of the high price, it was a stipulation that i could not share/trade the cut with anyone. :bigeye: No Thanks.

She is definately worth a pretty penny but in no way, shape or form is she(or any other cutting ftm) worth that kind of money (5k+). Ill just keep popping my seeds or dealing with other elites until i find something suitable for me and mine.

I like to quantify it in quaps, where one is a pretty easy trade... its just 1... not 1000, ya know? Or it's just 4, not 4000...

Everything is countable in bows! Houses, cars, girls, gambling debts... lol

I'd pay a few hundred for genetics.. some clones like Grape Romulan, Blue Goo, or Fire Og. I've never really tried looking for them though.

i would pay 100 bucks for a legit girl scout cookie cut right now....shit even more if they really wanted to haggle with it. a good clone will save your ass months of hard work through pheno hunting, etc.....man if i didnt get that SFV clone i would be in the stone ages right now! that shit really saved my grow and career when all my seedlings went hermy and didnt turn out good, i had the OG kush to fall back on.

If someone seriously offered to sell me a magical cut for even 1k I will throat punch em and take it and do what I do best which is grow her cloner her and spread her out for free.

I got ahold of a few cuts that a local dude keeps for himself,he don't even sell cuts but over time I have his top strains now and didn't pay for 1 of them.

Hordes are a waste of our air and should have theyre testies removed, and the whole I'll sell it to you but you can't give It out BS pisses me off just that much more.

We all need to have free access to cuts, its not a finished product so why should it cost?

In fact I just got 4 x 4ft trainwreck and 2 x 2ft jack frost for free granted TW is nothing special the jack frost is one of the strains the dude i mentioned above Hordes.

I hope someday people come to and start working with eachother instead of tryin to rip everybody off and get rich.

I agree, but still I understand why people do it, so i'm not too upset about it.

I disagree. Like Don McLean said roughly, "If I was to tell the meaning of my lyrics then my songs would lose what makes them special."

Some people don't want to give out there genetics to just anybody. Not everyone is deserving of a certain strain and as the keeper of that strain you have the right to hold on to her. This game is unfortunately about money sometimes. If someone with cancer or a very serious illness wanted a cut of my herb for free because it worked for their illness perfectly, I would most definitely give it out, but other than that, cloning materials cost me money so I feel $5 a cut is a good deal.

10 bucks for a lady, 5 for male clone if it gets interesting strain pollen. With roots growing already. Oh, and no mites on it and no herms. Never had a chance to get some special strains like mentioned here: Romulans, Mothership etc, some legends; it just doesn't threaten me :)

People don't wanna hand out there genetics because they're afraid they will lose profit plain and simple.

Small clones in 1-1/2" rockwool should be $0-$5. Larger sizes could go up to $30 for the extra veg time. There is no such thing as 'elite dna' clones. If you don't have 30 or more seeds of some seedline, you don't have 'dna' in the real sense. A clone is a fairly useless thing to breed with unless you have pollin from the same family. That's why it's kind of silly to hoard clones. The more special and exceptional a clone is, the more it should be spread far and wide so others can evaluate it.

Cost of production is an important factor. That doesn't mean I'm working with mediocre cuts or nutrients.
Shop around. I live in SF,ground zero for a buyers market. Club cost are $9-20 for a rooted clone.
Hit cl or b*****r the same clone is $5-10 when you buy a tray. I just bought 56 sweet tooth for $300

of course it comes down to money. If you make a living growing why would you flood your own market if you have something unique? I would give cuttings to friends to grow for personal but not for commercial runs.

It depends on the grower too. If its someone who sells his stuff but doesn't grow very well I wouldn't. When people buy 'name brand' shit and pay the big bucks, if they don't get the same quality it will drive down the price of the whole strain. Happened to kush in my area. At first no one had a problem paying big money cuz they knew it was going to be amazing. but once a few batches of mid grade kush went out the prices on the triple AAA dropped by ~ $300/lb.

I've heard that the Nevil/DoubleD G13 cut was bought for 20k.

I would pay 100 for a single clone, or 10 a pop if I was able to get a bunch of something nice.

I saw some of that girl scout cookie tree at this club on ocean in the city, the name turned me away from it.. It's actually pretty good?

i think paying for a clone is feasible, considering you didnt have time or space to sex seeds. time is money.

on the other hand, paying a ridiculous amount for a certain must have strain is effin retarded, because theyre keepers from about any batch of store bought seeds from the numerous and reputable breeders out there. and even if youre an elitist, after a few crosses and a little luck, you can easily attain something of conniseur quality.
