Can We Please Stop Calling It "Medical Marijuana"?

my whole point wasn't the "cannabis" part...

the whole labeling of "medical" on everything was clearly to gain foothold in a society with extremely ignorant views of equating substance use with being a criminal...

what needs to eventually happen is full blown legalization, and once that happens "medical marijuana" will sound about as silly as "medical handjobs," i mean, it all makes u feel better and more relaxed...

but Rx generally stands for medical prescription, and that applies to pharmaceuticals. MMj is "recommended" by a physician (here in the states), not prescribed, and certainly not made by a pharmaceutical company. Sativex could be referred to as RxMj. While the product I buy from a dispensary grown by some mother/daughter hippies... not so Rx, but getting to job done none-the-less.

its shit like that that perpetuates the belief that u need to have some horrible medical condition to be able to benefit from one of the greatest plants known to man...

i'm all for calling it "cannabis"... thats it.

Unfortunately, the "medical" angle is our only foot in the door towards decriminalization right now, so it seems we are kind of stuck with that for the time being.
Another word I don't like is "legalization".
It was legal from the beginning of time until William Randolph Hurst and Harry Anslinger demonized it and made it illegal in 1939.
I prefer to call it "decriminalization", ie., stop calling us criminals ,which we aren't. Expunge our criminal records, where applicable. Give us back our civil rights.
I think reparations are in order also, to be paid by our slavemasters.

I can see the negative aspect of calling it one thing or another I call it herb cannabis or whatever, but you know I really don't care what they call it if they would just legalize it! It's Medicine , it's a PLANT that helps me cope with intense pain!!!!!!! Peace puff puff pass!!!!!!!

I totally agree. Cannabis is the best way of calling it, without the word "medical."

Everyone can benefit from the effects of cannabis, not just the seriously sick.

"Herb" is just not good enough. Cannabis is an herb. But herb could mean thousands of other plants.

We don't call it marijuana here in the U.K. Always been Cannabis.

We have nicknames such as pot, weed, herb etc, The latest being Grade as the kids call it.

But what I don't get is why we call the flowers on the herb buds...fer fucks sake. I did get a strange look off my dealer at his/her house when I asked for a quarter of an oz of cannabis flowers LOL.
