What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) 50 cfm
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? Constantly on, it's a window fan with reversible blades, so 1 is intake, 1 is exhaust.
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? yes
Is your water HARD or SOFT? Soft
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? RO
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?
If using RO,Distilled, mineral water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS without any additives? 12
Are you using water from a water softener?no
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched No
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? No
Are plant's infected with pest's no

I've been adding Cal/mag first to establish proper ppm, some extra right now to deal with mag deficiency. these went from nice, green vegging plants under a 65w compact fluoro to what you see now in 2 days. just flushed 2 days ago with 3x volume of 5.8 ph'd water or until runoff (which had a high ph) lowered to around 5.9-6. One plant, a roughneck, is basically unaffected and is much shorter. Himalayan is the most pissed, has lost 4 big fans in 4 days. What the hell am i doing wrong? The leaf edges in these pics are almost white and the rest of the leaf has brown spots.

roughneck

Himalaya

Himalaya fan, crunchy and pooched.
Any help would be very much appreciated. It's frustrating as hell.

1350 PPM is kind of high for this stage of growth< thats my guess. I would cut it in half and see if there is improvement!

Thanks fellers! I had a suspicion that was the case. GL, do you run with tap water? i need to find out how much cal/mag to add to my RO water and still get the nute concentration right. I've read that 150-200 ppm is good, but if you go by the directions on the bottle, it mixes up at 450-500. Should I mix my nutes up to 1000ppm first, then add cal/mag or stick with mixing it in first?

sorry bro I run straight tap water...were I'm at its not bad at all PH is around 7.75 and the PPM is always around 115...

If it were me I would go without the cal-mag first off and see what happens...the FF nutes should have enough trace minerals to supply the plant with what they need.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't RO water be supplemented with cal/mag? i read in a few threads here about how the RO process strips the water of the calcium and magnesium normally present in tap water, which is what fert companies are assuming you will use and what then formulate based on that assumption. in any case, i HAD to supplement last run of the roughneck, as it showed bad def and the supplementation helped (re-greening of interveinal tissue and curled-over leaves flattened out.) Also, the plants are all showing new, normal growth at 1050 ppm. I also lowered the temp of the water down to 70 as I read that higher temps promote disease. Thanks again for the help.

NOW i get it!

NOW i get it!

I want to drop a quick "THANK YOU!" to you guys for the advice. I dropped the ppm's down to around 800 and WOW, what a difference. Just got back from a 2-week trip and the girls are as thick, green and lush as I've ever seen a plant. They have super shiny leaves and i would estimate that resin production is 30% more than this stage last run, when i was fighting deficiencies and ph drift every day. I hope never to have probs again, but if i do, i know where to come. I'd buy ya's a sixer if i could! Peeeeeece!:thank you:

Good rule of thumb on fertilizer schedules is to start out at 1/4 or 1/3 of the suggested strength and go from there.

Flush those plants with plain RO water. 2-3 gallons water to each gallon pot. Do not feed, just flush, and see if they recover. You should see a difference in 24-48 hours.

your over feeding man... calm down flush with strait water when they need another watering then feed with a 400ppm nutes till they recover....

Thanks for the great advice boys! Actually, all the issues have been resolved now, and yes, i was overfeeding. As it reads in my last post, the girls are super happy. I flushed like crazy, like 2 gallons per 6" cube, changed the res and dropped the ppm's. I always wondered how some people's plants looked so perfect and mine always struggled. Shame on me for following the schedule, as i realized following posting here that i was criminally overfeeding. Two weeks have past and i'm shocked at the improvement. Also, i can't wait to see how the Roughneck finishes this time, as I got 6.5 oz from a 2' lst'd bush. This run, I've limited them to 4 branches and lollipopped them a bit, and the bud set already has my eyes popping out. Profuse flowering, thick nugs already and I'm a week short of halfway. Check out the last results (with an overfed plant) in the Hydro forum under "600w Roughneck cab grow" to see what I mean. Thanks again for the help, i was getting real frustrated, and once more, problem solved!
