DrBudfingers Noobie grow Diary

Greetings from a long time lurker.
The title of this tread is somewhat misleading because technically speaking this is my second grow. My first got wiped out when my very generous neighbour started watering my plants through the ceiling of my grow room. I had to pull all my plants and clear everything away before I could let the builders in.

So .. now things are ship shape and Bristol fashion, I am ready and eager to begin again.

As mentioned I have lurked for quite a while, and have picked up many of the basics, but as many of you can appreciate nothing beats hands on experience. So this diary is really a request for some hand holding while I learn on the job.

This is my setup.

One 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 meter grow tent (another coming in a few weeks just for blooming)

Two Powerplant Envirogrow CFL 300 watt ligts (1 warm 1 cold)
One Hortilux 600 watt HPS dual spectrum (digital ballast)
One set of T6 fluros for cuttings/seedlings

Rhino air filter attached to a huge fan capable of sucking my tent inside out on full power.

Grow medium is Biobizz lightmix.

Fetrilizers are Advanced Nutrients
Grow (1-1-6)
Bloom (0-5-4)
Micro (4-0-0)

I have been told by the guy who sold these to me that these are great ferts and so easy even a noob like me can't screw these up (challange accepted). Something was mentioned about timed release etc, it sounded slightly fanciful, but he is a hydrogrower and has grown for many years .. so we will have to see.

Water is very hard in my area, Ph is 7+ so I have been using distilled vinegar to lower that to between 6.3 - 6.8.

Currently I have 6 plants on the go and 3 beans just cracking.

2 Greenhouse seeds Super Lemon Haze
2 barney's Farm 8 Ball Kush
2 Big Buddha Cheese
3 Royal Queen Seeds Easy bud autos (cracking)

I have included some images of the ladies as they are now 3 or 4 weeks into vegging, the 2 small ones are recent additions (Cheese). I am a little concerned about the depth of the ridges on the main leafs of the Kush. Otherwise they are coming on lovely.

So far I have watered them sparingly (once a week) and they have had no feeding. I think they will probably do fine without for another 2-3 weeks, but as soon as there are signs of stress I will start feeding. Any thoughts on this, is this an okay plan?

I am also going to take 20 or more cutting for the next generation 2 weeks after switching the light cycle to 12/12. So I will have nice bushy clones. I am not expecting a great crop from the first 9 plants, but just enough to last me until the second batch comes through. I am looking to scrog the next batch and veg them less. Trying to achieve a nice perpetual grow system eventually.

I will be updating weekly, all advice, encouragement etc gratefully received.

Thanks for the stoking, although heat is something I dont want atm .

An update to diary. temps in the grow tent seem to hover just under 23oC during the morning (when they are sleeping) and up to 25oC despite my best efforts during the afternoon, weather here is gloriously sunny and a balmy 22oC. So I am a little concerned about heat, but the girls look well for now.

I have also opted for an early FiM! topping, and some super cropping love squeezeing to counter stretch. SLH didn't much like this treatment last time out either, which is why I am growing so many genetics this time. I want to find something that works well, get a good few crops and then get fancy.
