Medical marijuana is an important idea, the word stays. Although Cannabis is more accurate, the common term, marijuana, is more well known.
Almost 80% of the US thinks cannabis should be available as medicine. Less than 50% are okay with recreational use. nuff said.

You can suggest Medical Cannabis, it sounds a bit more respectable, but a rose by any other name is still a rose....

Yup, I call it herb mostly, like Bob Marley did.
I have no problems with the many, many names people use. There must be a hundred.
But, having said that, "marijuana" is cannabis' "slave name" as it were.
It does have a negative connotation to it.
My point is simply: when an activist is in the public eye, speaking on TV, lecturing, or on any PUBLIC FORUM, trying to illustrate the positive benefits of our plant, why use the term of those who demonized it?
Why perpetuate their stereotype?
This site is called "International Cannagraphic Magazine", not "International Marijuana Magazine", presumably for a reason, and I am thankful for that.

much like you don't like the word medicinal used, i don't like the word cannabis..how bout just "herb" just flows out so smooooth..
herbal cannabis with herbal benefits and medicinal properties..

I feel the term marijuana has the old stoner label to it. And that is what keeps the general public wary of legalization. It is up to those that support cannabis to re educate the public and put the old stoner ways to rest. But if those in the business feel they can make money by perpetuating the stoner syndrome then it will be a uphill battle.
