Best Way to Vent if I go from Horizontal to Vertical cool-tube?

Welllllll, I have Came to the Conclusion that I would like to change up the grow box a little.

I currently have a 400w Cooltube from ebay some cheap shit and I lose sooo much light. So i have Been thinking about Taking off the reflector on the outside of the cool-tube Hanging the tube Vertical and hopefully gain allot of lumens.

I am just not sure how i would Run my scrubber and still vent out my box, I made the box So there is 2 intakes and one hole in the top for the OUT vent. I Suck from the scrubber and push threw the cool tube, then out of the box.

I can not rap my head arwond this. I am all for DIY projects, So i would love to save some money, use what i have and hopefuly get some Fatt buds in the end

I threw my reflector away about 4 months ago.. no reason to go back.

I would just take the duct between the fan and the reflector and vent that to the outside. Hang the lamp and put a fan under it blowing upward and see how things do. If you have the ventilation, you will be fine.

I think that might work, My fan is 379 cfm and it is not a huge space.I think i will try it. Would be pretty shitty to have heat a issh. only way to find out!

Welll, I did it.

It Is alot brighter in there it seems, I know right now for sure that this is not set up for Vertical cool-tube grow atttt alll.... I was just Fed up with the lack of penetration. Now i see alll of my undergrowth "for not" But yeah I will go more pots next round and grow more of a Circular shape around the light instead of wherever the big all 10g pots fit Will be interesting to see how this goes in flower with the stretch.

Another reason i did this, Is because i like to try new things.

its a bit warmer in there like 2 degrees not too bad.

Not sure how much more productive this will be with my current Pot arrangement.

There is a 150 something CFM inline duct fan attached to the bottom of the cool tube pushing air up, and my Big fan is scrubbing and blowing out the box.

Now I go and have a look, I almost Decide to go bare bulb....

I would love to know what people think. If this way is the best, or the last version with the wings, Or if Infact brare bulb would be best?

i'm betting the way you have it set up now is gonna work fine for you . when you first posted i was gonna tell you how to cool tube the light verticly (like you have it ) just using a honeywell turbo fan & a duct reducer ..... but your was is better ... better cfm's than the turbo fan . the only thing i would suggest is vent the light out of the tent .

Yeah The bins had 2 plants in them each, then Some Slow sexers came... One in each bin. So now i have one plant in a huuuuge Tub Thx for the Advice and post!!! I think Tomorow i will take tube off and see what temps i get, I would gain lumen's so thats worth the work for me, Using a 400 ill take anything i can get.

If i vent the light outside of the tent, I would have smell leaking Inless I did alot of work adding new vent holes and rigging up some crazy stuff... Little to much work, I have a strong fan pulling air out of the space, thx tho.... I might have misread something if so feel free to elaborate.

I just see the glass as a barrier, so I don't run it.

Lower buds with the vert bulb are much better than that of horizontal. The entire side of the plant gets hit with full light at all times.

you gonna need a screen (or screens) to keep the leaves away from the light or ya headed for burnt and bleached leaves city. A small circulation fan below the cooltube wouldn't hurt either. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah, and you could put your plants in the corners to get more distance from the 400.

When i Had my hood on, i would have the bulb like an inch or 2 from the canopy. never bleaching or burns. 400 is not that larg son.
I Touch glass with my bare fingers and not burn, I have a Fan underneet moving alot of air threw the tube and a nother fan blowing right on the bulb... Heat does not seem to be a big deal yet.

Im thinking i will try the Bare bulb tomorrow and run it for a few hours just to see. I checked temps again, With air cool hood they were 75 every day.
And with the 2 fans and the VERT tube i am hitting 76-77. Im not to sure how the barebulb will do but only one way to find out!

With mine I run about 79-83 depending on ambient temps. This is a temp taken at pot level. I think you will really like the results of a bare bulb vert.

I get 2 celsius degrees less with cooltube around my 400W bulbs, but height plays a major role too. In mid-late flower I will go bare bulb tho..

Ok well, Bare bulb made my box 3 degrees warmer... I kinda the cool tube, as it goes they are growing up and around it very nice.

After I get the C99 and chemxmat out, i think ill toss 8 plants around that, Actually plan to run vert cool tube. I find topping them really helped, Each cola has its own spot on the light, really helps make the plants grpw circular around the light.

Ya gotta think like a "laid back" stoner. A screen on the plants and a screen on the light saves a lot of training time! All ya gots to worry about is buds getting too close to the screen/lamp and blocking out the light to other buds.
And no, the light screen will not get hot if it is the painted metal kind with a fan below.

600w & 1000w CT

Wanna string a 600w with a 1000w should I get 2 tubes or do they make 1 large tube? Is there a difference between manufactures quality of these tubes?
