:plant grow:Man it looks like a pain in the ass to clear out spots in the cane. Is no wonder you put 3 plants in each hole, but nice that the cane dudes can water for ya:dance013:, you only need to find the drip lines. Are they easy to spot or is it a matter of counting rows to find them?

As a kid i worked on a big farm and every year did irrigation, in less it rained. But who ever brought the most weed, that person got to sit in the truck and watch as they moved the pipe. And burned hooters with the boss, which was most often me, lol.

Why the hell they looking for plants now, seems like a waste of time, in less someone planted everything in one spot? I thought you had said they waited a bit into the season before looking, but i could have missed that.

Man this is going to blow away last years grow. Just seems like you have bigger better plans:canabis:

Random Thoughts...

Hey LSY...Kannubis Happy 4/20 to you both. Hope you got as ripped as I did...

Now to your questions.

As far as the cane, the field I showed was a young one. The cane is easy to push over if they are watering. Also you can skip the looking for the dripline step. Look for the wet spot, and dig a couple of inches off of center....Don't say it...it's my job to make the poor taste jokes...:tiphat:

If the field is dry...it's a little harder.

The line is easy to find in a young field. It is always in the same place, between two rows of cane slips they use for seed.

As for the logic of Green Harvest??? Ya got me. Fiscal year starts in July so maybe they have some extra money? It's close to the end of short season...maybe they found buds? I don't know.

It could be good for me, because GH tends not to hit the spots they already visited. They hit new spots. So they may miss the cane next time. Also now I know I have at least a month of not worring, ... I can work with that.

Remember...last year I lost my ass in the cane. Go almost nothing...
So I can't do any worse than last year....short of crashing and burning....knock wood.

Also another great thing. Next 200 will be put in by my partner. I get to cruse, drop him off, make sure he is alone, leave some trails, go to the beach, find some shade, and check out the chicks while he sweats....we switch jobs. :dance013: He's now cargo...I'm the pilot.

First thing I'm going to find the squash patch, load up the pack, and let him haul it around....and hit every bump I can find on the way home.

I'm still pissed about that.

420 everyday for me.
Hey OH, I feel your pain, in a smaller way I just put out 20 one footers in the bush yesterday in 3 gallon diy smartpots. PITA. Not much dirt to dig in over here on east side of the Big Island.
My plants will start to bud immediatly so don't have to have big pots.
I am growing my mothers larger and plan on putting them into some maybe 15-20 gallon diy smartpots to put in my backyard perpetual grow.
Gurilla growing is new to me. My plan is to put out 20 one footers every two weeks. I wish we had some active cane fields over here to grow in.
Next year I want to follow your lead and start some plants From seed for the long season.
Thank you for all the Info OH and others here at ICMag. STAY SAFE!

Canni...good luck.

I sure hope the plants you put in go right off. When we planted clones, we noticed the ones we put in after May went a bit bigger.
This was in the dirt though. They'd get to 4 ft and bud in September.
You may be in for a surprise.

Now I have a lot of ground to cover.

Around the house the girls in the bottom garden are doing great. Every plant down there has blown through three feet. It looks like the will not regrow....so that means trees. They are putting on a foot a week. See? The red yardstick has returned.

A friend of my partner bagged a deer yesterday. Today he brought me a half gallon of fresh blood. Mix a cup of blood with 4 gallons of water and dump it at the base of your plant.

Now I'm the guy that uses dog shit compost....and deer blood tea on his plants...there's a couple of my tricks right there.

Sick fucker. :tiphat:

The gulch is following a few weeks behind. Of the four Rodney plants, I seem to have one Rodnette. So HRM...we are in business. The other three had balls and were of no use. I also have one Jack girl so far and a whole lot of huh? Five of eleven have yet to declare.

The cane has gotten a whole lot easier. I drop my partner off, do a quick cruse of the area, and go play for an hour. We are not working the same area, so I made a special trip across the road to look for the squash. Ain't found it yet...but I will.

We should do this one time Easter Sunday. But I promised wife of my youth I'd stay home tomorrow. So we are taking little bites in the evening. Not the best way to do this, but another 50 are into new homes.

Predictability will bite you every time. Next wave we will do things differently.

Pic 1 & 2) Bottom girls
Pic 3) Blood tea.
Pic 4) Sad huh? Rodnette...she's bummed I killed her boyfriends.

This is Starting to Get Redundant

This is Starting to Get Redundant

Headie...Things are going....well?...I wouldn't go that far...

Ojo....inspirational....Please...I just want them to be gone. I'm getting awfully tired of starts...and sugar cane...and dry cane fields.

Grey...I PMed you.

My not working Sunday almost came back to bite me.

Believe it or not I'm the brains behind this clusterfuck. Scary huh? I have a plan...but it's been shot to shit. The plan was move North to South, so we are planting new fields, and not putting too much in one area.

On Monday they burned a field right square in the middle of the area we had scoped out. If we would have worked Sunday, we would have been in and out, the work done (and not by me).

There is no way for us to attack this area without getting seen. So we get to skip it and move further south. Unfortunatly we havn't scoped this out yet, so I'm back in the fields working while my partner gets familiar with the ins and outs of the place. If we gotta run, it helps to know the fastest way out of there.

Also on Monday my partner casualy announces he has another hundred ready to go....What?...Who the hell told you to get starts going?....Oh....I did....never mind.

Well we have a Grade A mess comming our way. Ever tried to haul foot and a half tall starts around? They take a smoking.

I had a plan for my starts...there already stashed...now we gotta get rid of my partners too. I need to get into the field next to the one they just burned. And there is only one way to do it quickly and quietly....and that's a midnight run.

So wake up and hop on.

Midnight....We come in from the lower side. We got dropped off. They are hauling cane to the mill and we don't want to come in that way. We're on the quad, for the first time this year. If we gotta run this is what I want to be on. Getting in was easy. We pick our way through older fields, and out of sight. Partner dumps me and the first box of starts out on the corner, I look down and they are watering...Thank god for small favors.

As I get to work, I can barely hear the quad because of all the noise from the harvesters one field over. Nobody will hear me busting cane with that racket. This may be easier than I thought.

After I get the first row done, move to the second, and do that too.
As I'm heading out I meet up with my partner. He got tired of waiting, stashed the quad, and planted back towards me.

Shit...initiative...I like it.

We're done by 3 AM. It takes another half hour to erase our trails, Then just to make sure, we do some laps throughout the field. Put trails everywhere.

Let's go home. By now this is starting to get fun. We can pick our way home slowly or blaze right down the haul road and get home fast. Fuck it...we're on the quad...lets see them harvesting.

Nobody chases. All we are is another headlight in the dust. Hop the main road and head up the hill...were done. Smoke a couple of fatties and watch the sunrise.

That was too easy. On the quad you feel like god. You can be clean through the fields, north to south, in 20 minutes.

We're still behind schedule, Wave two never seems to end. I've lost count of the holes. We should be somewhere around 500 by the end of this week.

Will there be a second half? Depends on the weather. Fields are dry. If they stay that way, no reason to continue. If we get some wet trades...We'll be back to the saltmines in a couple of weeks.

The Pricks with Ears....

The Pricks with Ears....

What do you know about funding for greenharvest this year?
I heard they lost most of it at least on big island.

Not Enough....

You probably know this, but I will cover it anyway.

Green Harvest is paid for by a Federal grant, some state money, and all the counties except BI kick a little in too. If I remember correctly the BI has voted on making weed the lowest legal priority, and they don't kick anything in to the kitty for GH. :moon:

The people in the choppers are from DLNR with a few cops from each island. The DEA also flies one (the black Puma is theirs). Once again BI has different rules. Until last year you could grow 21 plants on private property and they would pass you by.

Last year was the final year of the Lingle Administration, and I heard that they were taking everything except seven in Medical grows on the BI. That could have been Lingles final fuck you to the BI. Or it could be new policy...I don't know.

Now we have a new Governor. The way Hawaii works is the legislature funds stuff, but the Governor releases the money. We're also what? A Billion in the hole? more?

So I don't have a clue what will happen this year. New administration, no money at the state level, feds?...if they ante up chances are it will still go on. Or Abacrombie could step on the whole thing....that would be nice....:dance013:

Either way count yourself lucky. Here they fly 3 days to cover 700+ sq miles. To do the same job on BI they would have to fly for a solid month to cover you. BI has 7000+ sq miles. So even if they fly, they have a lot of ground to cover,

With small plants scattered about...I don't think they will bother you.

Hawaiian...no worry...I was being all high and mighty in that thread. You did me a favor. :tiphat:

When I first moved here there were 11 sugar mills and cane was grown on four islands....now there is one mill on one island left. And thank god it's here. Otherwise I would be back to the jungle too.

Funny you mentioned bees....my partner hates bees...but they love him. A couple of years back we were searching for a lost patch in the cane, and he stepped on a meat bee nest. Brudda... talk about funny. He's doing the bee dance, I'm like, "Whats wrong with you?" Then he runs to me, I start getting stung, and both of us run in different directions to get away.

To this day all I have to say is "Look, Get bees." and he will run my ass over to get out of there. Same thing, he's a stud...but scared shitless by a little bee. So I mess with him every chance I get.

As for Bambi and friends...last year was so dry I had them at the fence. My plants were the only green around. Drove my mutts nuts. Asked my neighbor to turn on one of his top water troughs. He did, then I started to hear the random 3 AM gunshot.

Speaking of deer blood .... how did that workout?

You tell me. From a little over three feet to just under five in a week. And I'm surprised nobody has caught my upcoming little trick with what I've shown so far. Don't the big ones look a little funny? But if you guys don't catch it, GH won't either.

What the hell...might as well do the house report too. It's been a week.

The gulch girls have grabbed hold and now are doing great. I have two Jack plants that are in different holes that are triples. And both look girly. Not sure yet....but get chance. The rest of the Jack plants are girls. Got one male in 10 so far....how'd that happen? And they are going long too.

A friend offered me a couple of clones, and it looks like one of the regrows doesn't want to regrow....it wants to bud...so removal and replacement may be necessary. In it's place one of your super dooper mainland indoor strains...The latest in MJ technology may get a crack at some outdoor Hawaiian love....bet'cha I fuck it up...:blowbubbles:

Now we are past the paint dry stage, things should get more interesting. We get to see if dog shit and deer blood work.
