I just open mine in paint, resize or crop to the right size and then I upload.

in paint go..Image-->stretch/skew-->decrease vertical and horizontal to 50%

icmag has a built in pic resize. When you upload here it will auto re size for you.

I do use Digital Photo Navigator most of the time .

Anyone know the widest I can use without getting that "this image has been resized" bit? 800?

I like using photoshop if it's installed (go to file>save for web) It lets you resize really quick and lower the quality setting so you can fit more pics your albums.

I guess 800 pixels wide is max but for tall pictures 750x1000 is looking good. There must be a magic 800x...oh... 1050?
take me to the limit : )

IrfanView is a free shareware with easy picture resizing ..pics seem to upload easier for me if I resize them first..the IC resizer has been crashing on me lately

There's a ton of free apps out there just for this purpose. If you have XP, like mentioned above, use tweakui from the XP Power Tools set. There's a clone for windows 7 available there somewhere.

These tools are nice, since you can feed them an entire directory structure, and everything is done automagically.

The magic numbers I use are no more than 800x1000 to have it fit auto without the resize caption at the top of photos

In photoshop elements I save through >file and then click >save for web

I change the first box to jpeg and the second box to 20% to get small files with ok quality. The third box down is for the resize part. I change which ever number is bigger down to a number that fits- if the horizontal is bigger, it goes down to 800, if the vertical is lower change it to 1000. In this picture the height was bigger so I used 1000 and it scaled the width to down to 700 automatically.

click apply and save away. this one was 72.k file size @ 700x1000 and will fit well. 50-100k is an alright file size imo and saves room for more pics and helps pages load faster.

IrfanView. Light, simple and packed with handy functions like batch processing.
