current marijuana laws in ontario?

what are the laws in ontario?how many plants can you grow without prison time?what is the possession limits?what are the consequences?fines?jail time?this is all cloudy too me right now.last i heard 5 plants was gauranteed 6 months.couls someone please explain a little to me?

First, I'm not a lawyer so take my advice for what its worth lol

Ontario laws would fall under the federal controlled drugs and substances act. AFAIK there is NO minimum sentencing in place as prop s-10 was recently shot down. It would be up to the judge to decide what sentence you get.

I too have heard of magic numbers that are a good idea to stay below. ex: below 1 kg for weed is different charges than above. but who knows. I would love to hear some input about this.

Basically, unless you have a med card its illegal to grow, sell, or possess any of it. You could get a harsh judge and end up on a raw deal for only a couple plants or end up with community service for a hundred plants.

but this is Canada so unless you got a crazy criminal record charges are typically pretty light

Everyone is eligible for a med card in Canada.
You just need to get the paper work going.
