Jay, How's the Black Diamond x GG3 going? I have these same seeds. Am interested to hear about your experience.

Thanks bro.

I was told something similar but that it was just blackberry kush and a popular socal dispensary had just renamed it ‘‘black diamond kush’’ and started selling clones, I have also seen ‘‘black diamond OG’’ but they both looked the same to me... In the end who really knows the truth besides the original grower him self.

well when you put them into flower post some pics for sure, i grew blackberry kush a while back and i would love to see if theres some relation

@Bushwaker - just seedlings at the moment 6 out of 10 sprouted april first. All are starting their second set of true leafs. Still two months till planting time around here. Good luck with with em you'll love anything with gg, early and potent. pm me a journal link if you decide to make one.

Anyone else growing GG crosses? Just got my first order of GG3, and a free mix pack of

(SK#1 X GG#3) X GG#3
Pre 93 SK#1 X GG#3
Bluebonic X GG#3
Shit X GG#3
Mighty Durban X Critical Mass

I'll be ordering one more pack for sure to have a seed/plant count of about 50. Wishing for 25ish fems. We'll see though. Good luck this summer may it be a good one!

Hey jay-toker,

Sorry for taking so long to get back here. I was checking back everyday for a while, and kinda gave up.

I haven't popped mine yet. From what I've read about GG crosses one needs to be cautious about photo sensitivity. I was looking at dates for outdoors between May 9 & 24. So, the start's coming soon. I'll be sure to come back and post up some pics when I do pop em.

I also have some of the same gear as you. I'm going to be rocking the Blubonic x GG as well. I plan on starting it, and the BDxGG at the same time.

Other strains (in order) for this year are:
Durban Poison - already popped
Herijuana - next up
Black Domina x Chronic
Freezland bx3
BBxGG - as mentioned above
BDxGG - subject of the thread
Freezland x Manitoba Madness
Auto Afghan x Man Madness
My own cross, I'm just calling "Mutt" for now, as the true lineage was never verified.
+ I have a few unknown autos coming from a friend

Good luck to you too JT

BTW what's the deal with PM? Although I've been here since '08 I can't seem to PM. Am I just missin something?

you need 50 or 100 posts to get pm privileges..

enjoy...

Well well well, funny bumping into you here krk:wave:

Yeah, I went and re-read the TOU. But back when I first joined I could've sworn Greens and I talked via PM. Then again, it could just be the memory slippin... Oldtimers disease, ya know.

yo Skunk Kid,
Just have a quick question,
How was that Blackberry Kush? I have access to a cut, just haven't heard enough about it.
So far I get great bag appeal, super purple taste, nice color, but lacking on potency.
Is It worth running a full season Outdoor, in 100 gallon Smart Pot?
Peace

like i said its a good plant the only thing i didn't like about it was the short high and the small yield, but if your just growing for personal use i would say give it a run, if you have ever grown bubba kush (clone) then its really close as far as plant/bud structure go's but it will stretch a tad bit more and the fan leaves are more sativa looking. i have never grown it outdoors, i have heard of people doing it with this strain but i don't know what there end result was, but if i was going to grow it outdoors i would plant early in the season give it a nice long veg period and top the shit out of it, grow it like a giant bush, i always pruned the leaves back on mine indoors around week 3-5 of flowering it didn't seem to mind very much and it fattened up the lower buds and upped my yield a bit, if you do that it will take an extra week to finish but its worth it, it will also give some more ''color'' to the lower buds as-well...

let me know if you need any more info.

Well, I gotta give a thumbs up to the guy that made this cross. I soaked 16 seeds in some old tea (plain black tea & green tea which had sat out over night) and I got 16 seedlings! 100% germ is a good start. Now to see where we go from here.

@ jay-toker - How they going for you man?

Woot awesome germ rate bush! 2011 grow season has officially stared. You got quite the selection there man this year will be a bountiful season for ya. That auto affi x madness should be a jem.

I have 6 6-8" plants growing in a small greenhouse. Ended up with three distinct pheno's a wide leaf indica with a purple tint to the stems. Skinny leaf sativa type no tint and a mix of the two with a slight tint. The only bump in the road was a male triggered after switching from cfl's to the greenhouse. Pics in a minute.

Edit: pics
A few are blurry sorry about that. There about 1 month old the biggest two were topped an just starting to recover. Topped ones are also the most purple. Hopefully one of those will be fem.

Hey there JT,
Thanks for the update & pics. Are the last two swamp/tube hole? Haven't done the swamp tube thing yet, but might next year. Read lots about it though.

Season's def underway. I'm just waiting for things to green up a bit more. I have 10 of my 'mutt' that I'm dying to put out. They've been with me for 100 days now. I've LST'd the crap out of em, and they're starting to show signs of stress. So... soon as some leaves pop out they go!

I'm kinda pushing things this year. Got the durban up & running (10/12 beans popped), and they're all in the 6" range. Meanwhile I've got everything else popped too. Lots of little green babes to keep up with.

That's interesting info. about the male triggering due to switch from cfl to GH. What was your day/night? I'm working with T5's @ the mo'. I have everything @ 20/4. I started em all @ 18/6 last Friday... but I've had to up the daylight hours/shorten the night to fix a problem I created (a month ago I put "the mutt" seedlings @ 14.5/9.5 - were taking too long to show sex, now they don't want to revert - oops!).

Fingers crossed for ya - re the purple phenos being fems!

100 days how big are they? Must be lookin like a giant bush.

I wish! Think Bonsai tree in stead.
8 of 10 are woody, and almost 2', with major 90 degree bends to keep em short, and still have clone sites. The other 2 are 1/2 that height, and not woody @ all. When space was even tighter (during the initial sort) I hastily top-cloned every plant that wasn't a parent. The results were that I slowed growth & with it maturation. Going to 14.5/9.5 solved the sexing problem but created others in the form of stretch and the reluctance to go back to veg.

The shameful truth is that I have the lighting equipment to do this right... but my grow setup is far behind what it should have been. Fate & finances caused me some hardship & overcrowding has been the result. Like I said, I know I'm pushing things - The Grow Must Go On! lol

What kinda lights do you use?
Normally, I use T5 florescent for seedlings & clones, MH for veg, and a mix of MH & HPS for flower. Right now its strictly T5. Just no way to deal with the heat that the HID options would create in my limited grow space.

Your lucky man wish it were possible to have plants out at the beginning of may here. Great germ rates too. Can't wait to see those grow into giant bud trees. Hows the mutt, light sensitive, easy cloner? Have any pics of her from last year?

No pics here. I do have a few @ the home of the AA though.

The Mutt...
Not particularly light sensitive IMO... Though this current problem is making me wonder. Original mom cloned in 14 days. F1 (last year's was same) This year (F2s) have been similar, with one exceptional plant cloning in 8 days! (rockwool)

Last year's Mutt - F1's were put out young & late - mid July, and finished mid Oct. The fem I kept (#5) was fastest to flower, showed sex @ 56 days, and finished 6' tall, 4' around - was topped prior to going out, and once again when out. Was not super-cropped (aside from topping for clones was set n forget). She turned out out 1/2 elbow. To be picky, could've had a better leaf to calyx ratio.

Buds are Sativa leaning, with a trippy psychedelic high that creeps up, then goes to the body. Not super heavy, but strong - maybe a 7 out of 10.

The male (#4) I used to make seeds (1:1 pairing with #5) was the most vigorous of any plant, had great structure, and a skunky fuelish smell.

So far the F2's have shown a little variation. I've got 3 sort-of phenos so far. A red stem I call rhubarb, a red/green stem I call duct-tape ;) and an all-green stem which became Al Green. I haven't done a good enough job on documenting the differences in the leaves - yet, although I and a friend did perform a scuff/sniff/document exercise

The F2's have been more difficult all around. Seed hulls were TOUGH, and germ was so so. 16/22 on first attempt. Out of 16 I got the 10 fems though. Earliest sexed @ 63 days... but who knows if I'd not topped them?

I haven't gotten any Maverick, though I'm familiar with it. I was leaning more towards the Brickland, though if time & $ permitted I'd be running the Brickland, Charger and Maverick - in search of an August grail of my own.

Are there fish in that brook? Man, be careful, you never know. Its trout season... peeps will throw in a line anywhere.

Well, I'm super tired and more than a bit o/t.

Thanks for letting me know how yours is doing. I'll pop in with some picks when we get to beer cup stage.

peace, Bw
