Tangerine dream 250 watt cabinet grow

Hey there fellow growers!

This is the first time I've decided to share a grow here on icmag.
Strain is Barneys Farm Tangerine dream feminized. Grown in a universal potting soil, perlite and vermiculite mix in a 25l container.

I'm a bit late with the pics and journal. Had some pH issues a few weeks back as my shitty adwa ph meter wasnt cooperating. She's been transplanted since then, and have refrained from feeding for now. Looks to me that its recovered.

Vegging has gone on for about 3-4 weeks. Changed the bulb and flipped to 12-12 today at 33cm and 9th node (counting the first one that I've cut off).

I'm amazed with how compact the node structure is with this strain. No stretching at all. Have any of you noticed the same?

I'll do my best to keep this thread up to date. Please feel free to ask questions or give input/advice.

Yeah, I've got a centrifugal fan blower on it that I salvaged from an old server. It's quite powerful so I've aimed it "off" slightly. The average temps in the cabinet are 25-30 degrees celcius. A bit on the high side, but the ambient temp in the room makes it nearly impossible to improve without setting up an AC.

I'll post some more pics tomorrow. The lights have already gone out so I cant open the door.

I spotted that she's already started to show sex at the top node which is really weird as today was the first day of 12-12. Has anyone else seen this before? I'd certainly be interested to hear more about this if anyone knows more. Will post a pic of this tomorrow as well.

if it were me growing under a little 250 I would bend that plant over now to let the branches get some light and slow the overall plants stretch.
it's most likely gonna nearly triple in height

Thanks for the advice! I've been thinking about training but have my reservations as well.

This would be my first plant I let take its natural shape, sort of interested as I've never done it before and its a new strain to me so would be cool to learn more about its form and habits.

In terms of height I've calculated that my cab could just deal with it, do you reckon that the 250 watts is too weak to properly light a plant of this size?

I'm at a cross-roads... either I train. Or let nature take its course and use a 400 watt I've got laying around for the last few weeks.
What would you suggest?

If I train, I was thinking about topping and using that to make a mother clone. Does that sound like a good or bad idea?

Here are a few pics of the setup

The 125mm duct was a real bitch to run in such a tight space.
I use to grow in a tent which was great but not very stealthy.
I've learned a lot from my design mistakes in setting this thing up... definitely doesnt even come close to the performance of the tent.
For my next grow I'm going to start from scratch and build a 12sqf "room" with dedicated 600w flowering and T5 vegging compartments.

I couldn't get a sharp macro shot of the single buds that have started to show on the top node, so that will have to wait for another day.

I was on my way to work a few days ago and saw a fire truck going in the direction of my grow. This got me thinking big time. I've got a dog at home and it would be heart breaking if he was trapped in there and a fire started when no one was home.

So I've done some browsing of the safety threads on here and decided to run my light at night when there is always someone home to take action if things go south. Installed a fire alarm above the cab as well, so I wake up in time.

Do yourselves a favor and consider the safety of your grow at all times. FIRE is to be taken seriously... Too bad most people only wake up to this when they have experienced this shit first hand. Plus the peace of mind is a nice bonus :)

my TG's are showing multiple phenos. One has stretched over 5x and some others only 2x.

pretty junky genetics if you ask me.
