hi compost,

i have not a clue about the pH. since moving to organic medium, ive seen it stressed that there isnt much of a need for it..

my kelp meal arrived yesterday, dropped 1/2 tsp in 3l of water, shake around throughout the day(no air pump). this morning. the top - within hour of lights off - those leaves perked up a bit..

sounds like your ph dropped too low since you say it happened after you added some fish ferts 5-1-1 (alaska?) drops the ph pretty low. i wouldnt worry too much unless it gets worse. water with plain water for a while.

Low ph... Test runoff and get back to us. If you don't have a Ph meter get some cheepo test strips, they are good enough for soil IMO.

thanks guys. finally got an air pump to brew my tea. yes, it is alaska fish i used and it comes in handy sometimes. nice to know it can lower ph as i can recall seeing this before, but only on bagseed experiments. the leaves have went pretty much back to normal after 2 nights.

thanks for the input. :joint:

I've seen this happen from soil too high in PH, it locked micro-nutes out, funny some people here are saying it is from too low a ph, I suppose it works both ways then. I know for a fact last time around I mixed up some soil I added too much garden lime, had tons of leaves twisting and got it corrected after many many many waterings of epsom salt (the sulfer in it lowering my ph)
