lone wolf, u seem a bit bitter? just because u lost a few hundred dollars in a few hrs doesnt make it a rigged game. not that it couldnt happen, but they regulate and try to protect thier players as best as they can. with the amount of rake they take daily it would be foolish for them to try to hide thier $. i and many other have many a decent living or extra money for years (14 years myself and never had a loosing year) and now our lovely gov has taken another choice/freedom of mine away. so now i'll have to drive 2hr round trip to my casino (legal) or go back to playing back room card games (not legal) in the city which can be a little schetchy to say the least.

So you really think these Sites are square??? That they are there for you to make $$???
They would not be there, if it wasn't for them making more $$ than you--
I am not saying they should have been shut down...but pls don't act like they are doing a Public Service--:tiphat:

They make money off the rake just like anyother casino!

that's a good question.. I'd like to know what others think about this

but the thing is did he know that he was ratted out, and if so did he know it was by those guys ??

usually police don't say the name(s) of the informant(s)

or go back to playing back room card games (not legal) in the city which can be a little schetchy to say the least.

what's dodgy about the back room card games that you go to ?

if you dont mind me asking

been a poker grinder for over 5 years, sad to see yanks still havin trouble ,but heard it all before ,if u want to play bad enough u still can

"i have sat down and lost hundreds of dollars in absolute BULLSHIT situations... and chances are, I was not alone... and chances are even greater that each of these companies fucked with the WRONG person..."

above quote =wellcome to poker can be a tough game ,i used to" think" it might be rigged as well then i tracked over 1 million cash hands i played and checked the stats all is good

would make absolutelly no sense for site to cheat they make millions in rake by running a fair game,if cheating was proved they lose so many customers and therefore lose rake
ive been a consistent winner over 5 years so cant fathom it is rigged at all
potripper on ultimate bet was biggest scam ever recorded thru a poker site and poker players who lost to him outed him when u can track all hands /stats u can see if everything is above board

good luck to all the yank players hope u can all get yer monies on and out

Stars nor Full Tilt were rigged. I played 750k hands b/t the sites since 2006 and not once did something happen outside statistical significance except for my biggest downswing. And that only came outside the stats b/c I tilted and moved down and dropped about 20 buyins at a level a 10th of my normal one. Stats don't account for tilt and flips.

The evsimulator is the best tool out there really. http://www.evplusplus.com/poker_tools/variance_simulator/ Mess with this and you too will see how much luck is in the game of poker and life for that matter. You can use my stats. 5bb, 100bb Std Dev, 750k hands, 1000 trials.

So whenever someone says this shit is rigged you can point them to this site and then you can send them over to www.pokertableratings.com and buy up a billion hand histories and run the analysis yourself. I bet you 100:1 you will not find stars or tilt rigged.

poker is a nice game

i'm not surprised it turns into an addiction for some people,

does everyone have his heart beating like crazy when gambling ? or do some people have nerves of steel ?

What I've been trying to say was this:

Sit at a real table and make some real money.

Poker still exists and certainly fills coffers in this country.

You don't need to do everything on line... yet.

I'd rather have the benefit of reading my opponent than playing in my boxers.

THe thing about online poker is people who do it for a living play various tables, sometimes going into the high dozens, at the same time. This gives you an advantage, as at a full table, you will only be forced to pay for two hands out of 10(the blinds). the more tables you have, the more free hands you have, the more mathematical chances of having an advantage.

also, psychological advantage of not dwelling on a hand. if they raise more than what your mathematical advantage permits you to risk, you just fold and go on to the next table.

That said... it's better to learn to read betting patterns online before going by facial expressions. No one thinks twice about lying through their teeth, but when they gotta back that bluff with money things get clearer. Drawing betters are funny. ooh, and watch out for limpers.

Lets see.....About a year ago Obama wanted authority to shut down the internet if he deemed it to be in the interest of national security and was told basically to go to hell.
Now we have the FBI doing this and the DHS has already shut down a bunch of sites that they feel are a threat.
Guess O got his wish after all.
What's next peeps?

After you play enough hands your heart will quit racing. I think it took about 225k to get there for me. Only then would it start racing if I was playing way higher than I had the money to cover.

Welcome to the land of the free with CONSTITUTIONALLY guaranteed freedom to associate (unless you're a poker player). I really enjoy associating with this community; however I have no illusions that the US Federal Government will once again VIOLATE my 1st Amendment right to freely associate. So let me say it was great knowing you guys.

If you read the indictment and civil complaint you will see the sites were allegedly engaged or involved with processors engaged in illegal acts. Everyone kind of knew this, especially on 2p2. If you so much as listed a processor from bank xfer or wire or bank name on a check it got deleted by the mods and you likely got an infraction or banned.

It's ironic how gambling in Vegas was kosher because the Mormon's started it, but internet gambling is somehow immoral? Bunch of pathetic hypocrites run this country...

Again I will pose this question.

If the 1st Amendment applies and WE are FREE to ASSOCIATE (more important than religion to me) how can the government VIOLATE the rights of so many in the pursuit of so FEW?

In my opinion the ACTIONS of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and the LAWS they used to JUSTIFY their actions are ALL UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

None of this changes the fact that THE GOVERNMENT will crush any group it wishes IRRESPECTIVE of MORALITY or CONSTITUTION.

Nope the greatest IRONY is that this very week, Gary Loveman, Chairman Caesar's Entertainment (formerly Harrah's) spoke live on CNBC about starting an ONLINE poker site to complement their casino operations and The World Series of Poker (which is owned by Caesar's).

Money talks and the corruption of US corporations and the US Government is once again trampling US citizens and Aliens (yeah that is what they call all the rest of you) alike.

^^^^ I've been waiting myself for them to at least try to block the sites like this. Only a matter of time. They have to work their way to it first.

Lone Wolf is over the top on this one. To me he sounds like a fish who lost money. He's bitter and wants revenge. Cheering for the FBI in the takedown of online poker is like cheering the bust of a commercial grower. It rubs me the wrong way.

Personally, I keep track of all deposits and withdrawals and can say with certainty that I'm in five figure profit just playing recreationally. Yes, there have been scandals that have been dealt with. But the site has no motive to rig the game. It makes money no matter who wins the pot. I know online sites do use prop players on occasion, but I'd bet there are no robot players.

Taking down online poker is only going to drive the players to illegal poker clubs that are run by way more dangerous individuals than the online sites.
