Question about nutrients.

Coco is kind of like hydroponics. In 2 gallon smartpots I feed twice a day, and I have no perlite mixed in. Making teas like that would be kind of a hassle I would imagine. I also hear a lot of people saying that organics and coco just don't mix. You really want to keep your K down quite a bit. pH is also super important(5.8-6.0). I use Canna coco A+B, botanicare sweet, cal/mg, and I am about to throw in some bud XL and AN liquid big bud(free) for the added boost in mid flower. I hear a lot more positive things about House and Garden coco nutes. I am not completely sold on Canna. I have to constantly monitor the pH and it doesn't seem complete. Very expensive as well.

Its just a basic guano, molasses, and kelp mix that i bubble for 24 hours. I was wondering if I can use it on coco instead of buying nutrients that already come bottled like the CANNA line and others.

Sure you can. It would be better to get some earth worm castings in the tea and mix though. I'm currently growing in 50% coco, 30% perlite, and 20% castings feeding with fish, guano, kelp, and casting top dressed or brewed in teas with no pH, ppm, or EC metering. It works well.

Johnny,

I'm getting ready to transplant from 6" green nursery pots to 3 gal Aero Bags with 20% perlite. Planning about a week of veg and then 12/12. 2nd crop in coco. 1st crop was done organically alternating [more or less] Earth Juice teas and botanicare. I used the Pure Blend Pro with OMRI approved Ca, Mg, and trace products. Also used Karma, molasses, EJ Catalyst with the PBP. Had my best production ever.

Please keep the info coming as you try to dial in the teas. I would like to move more toward teas and away from so many bottled products.

I agree that the K, along with Mg, need to be managed with a firm hand.

BTW, I have carefully monitored and adjusted pH, and for someone who's long been an organic grower, it's a pain in the ass. But it's important to the way I'm growing, so I'm very open to other methods that may offer relief from that burden. Don't forget to write.
Buena suerte.
