Landrace sativas that are still around in pure form?

So the Title says it all. I am going to start searching for my super sativa to breed with and was wondering what true landrace sativas are even available in seeds form today.

And what sativa landrace clone only are floating around (specifically in michigan).

I am interested to see what has been lost.

and just to reiterate cuz I know it gonna happen fast....

LANDRACE ONLY .....HYBRIDS NEED NOT APPLY!

I guess I should have asked for more specifics. I wanted to know of specific types of 100% landrace sativas that anyone has smoked (recently) and what they thought of it. I have been looking at a few from ace, and would really like to grow some oaxaca but I believe that one is not around anymore.

Where are the die hard sativa guys and girls out there? tell me about your experiences please?

I'd like to know the same. I've been looking at Ace too and stopped looking at the Real Seed company when I realized I'd have to take a trip to the UK to pick up some of their great offerings. sigh :(
I'd like to see some more south/southeast Asian strains myself viet, kerala, etc along with the more remote Latin sativas Oaxaca, Colombian. A tiny part of me cries inside when I see videos in the Hindu Kush regions and people are starting to grow Dutch strains. sigh :*(

Gypsy sells 3 southeast Asian Sativas. I grew the Khmer Gold and liked it. I actually have 3 Khmer Gold x P.T.K going now, should be a fun grow, the hybrid vigor is insane! Perhaps try out his stuff if you really want to go the landrace route.

Hey Capo, thanks for the advice. I have actually grown Western winds 5 years ago and loved it. My mom kept telling me to change the cat litter for real! HAHAHA. Super creative thought provoking.

But I was looking for landrace sativas and not hybrids because I am planing my next seed project and I am only going to use land races if possible.

Hi,

Cannabiogen propose the Jamaica Blue Mountain (16-18 wk), it's a landrace(or cultivar) 100% sativa ,it's a very best strain !social high,creative and positive ;

ACE propose a Guatemala sativa, good strain too,;)

Cheers

(sorry for my bad english)

i know you dont want a hybrid but you really should check out la nina from mrnice it has some of the aussie holy grail sativa in it. mullambimby madness.

im busy growing out the ciskei landrace from south africa and the one specimen is really amazing looking/smelling so far with loads of frosting. the trichomes are very small and white. have grown out many africans since i live here. my favorites are the swazi for their huge yields and never-say-die attitude. for swazi there is usually not much body stone at all but some of them can be quite trippy and introspective. there are a million different varieties of swazi which is a cultivated strain in the country swaziland. each farmer has their own seed that they sow each year and their crops intercross with each other. slowly european genetics are getting their way into these rural peoples hands (thanks greenhouse) and the old school gene pools are being hybridized with this other shit.

malawi is also quite nice. its more elegant than swazi in flavor and the high is calmer and clearer.

Do as lokes says. Im growing some leb27 this year. Landrace sativa imported from libanon to denmark over 30 years ago, so its early and can handel harsh weather. But have not tried it myself yet so can not say any thing about the smoke. But the buds look nice and frosty at least....

I'm not too sure if its a Landrace, (I dont know what that means) but Dutch Passions Durban Poison is a 100% sativa with a 8-9 week flower time

"Marijuana Seeds Information

Imported from South Africa, produced in Holland. Exclusively inbred, never hybridised, 100% Sativa. Large long bud leaves, buds are also large and long with lots of resin. A sweet liquorice or anise flavour. "Up" high similar to Thai. High yields. Well suited for out crossing with late bloomers to produce earlier flowering. Also does very well under artificial light. A very popular variety.

THC: 8.6%
Flowering period: 8 - 9 weeks
Harvest time outdoor: end of Sept."

Yep, it's a landrace alright. Landrace means a strain that is particular to one area/region in the world. ;)

P.S. Personally I wouldn't harvest this strain at 8 weeks.. At week 7 I'd start flushing and I would prolly chop at week 10. I have a strain from south africa that goes 15 weeks, so the plant is naturally able to go longer there. It seems what Dutch Passions did was picked the earliest flowering plants and inbred them for that trait; flowering time.

There's still a few around sold online fortunately, but most websites only offer overinbred commercial strains for skunk/indica junkies ;)
It's good to see more people getting interested in landraces, hopefully interest will grow in them, to be able to save a lot more that risk extinction!

i've got the following seeds myself, i'm intending on using indoors, but it'll take me a while before i can use them all:

-African buzz: selected malawi gold
-orisha: landrace nigerian from mandala
-ethiopian highland
-Zambia
-Ciskei

As you see, i'm a mostly african genetics freak, i'm not an expert on growin any,
but for me, the most powerful trippy smoke i've had in my lifetime, was african brick import (mostly seedless, probably from somewhere in the stretch between senegal and nigeria), subtle sweet smell, so resinous, perfect smooth burning, spicy scent/taste when burned

Ciskei
grew this out last run and found a keeper out of only 3 plants. it stays short, needs lots of veg time but puts on the frost in a big way and the high is very light on the body and not trippy on the mind or racy on the heart at all, more relaxed and calm feelings but without any couch lock. been growing out some durban poison x ciskei and the high is more up and speedy. couldnt sleep the first night i smoked the durban cross. durban was selected and bred to F3 by african herbman. lasko made the ciskei x durban cross i believe.

cool, that comment benefited me as a quick preview.

a bit off topic here, i'm veggin a few ciskeis at the moment meant for outdoor flowering up north (amongst them is 1 king congo: Congo xCiskei, meant for indoors, but i can't tell the difference :( lack of attention on my part there).
Planned for indoors: just germed a mix: african buzz, orisha, king congo

there is also Congo xOth, i got veggin outdoors, that i plan on flowering indoors from cuttings months from now (horrible to think how long i'll have to wait for this last 1), that i will actually plan on selecting for a mother, very impressive vigour at the moment.
i'm also veggin outdoors a few durban xCiskeiBC1, meaning:
Ciskei X (CiskeixDurban).

the healthiness of all these plants in the beginning look promising, very healthy seeds/germination
Way too early to make a judgement, i hope this company will prosper, if they plan on pursuing a valuable african genetics project

Sativa Seedbank has a few pure landraces:
Eldorado - inbred Oaxacan
Hawaii Maui Waui - inbred Hawaian
Full Moon - some lowland Thai, a little questionable if it's 100% sativa

I'm trying the Eldorado and Full moon this year outdoor :) So far, so good:

Nanda Devi is the one i will chase next :)
I got quite a few landraces collected over the years but sadly didn´t grow any pure sativas yet. Got some Manga Rosa, Green Brazil and Mota Mortal that are supposed to be some kind of brazilian sativa landraces being worked at the moment so let´s hope something special comes out of it.
ATB for all your projects
