as the title says reason i am asking is outside temps get below 0

you could stop taking air from outside during the winter. thats what i do for my basement grow. i just recirculate the indoor air and dont vent from or exhaust to the outside.

it doesnt seem to hurt my grow at all, plenty of fresh air seeps in and out of the house. i also re routed a heating vent to feed into the basement during the winter, temps sit around 60 during lights off

the plants do not breathe much during lights off. though it would be better to have a little airflow in the dark period, if its a choice between that or too low of temperatures....much more important not to let them get too cold or it will slow their growth.

Humidity also builds after lights out. Good to have some type of exhaust going, if possible. I too recirculate my basement air with no issues.

Only things you need to control lights off are temps and especially humidity. There is no need to exhaust your room lights off if you can keep those 2 things in check.

Screw the plants, it could put an end to your freedom. Without negative pressure there's nothing to keep the smell in the cab.
