Thanks Bundy, the pics were taken with a 10 megapixel camera, but when resized, then IC resized the results are pretty blurry, probably help if they were taken with the lights off too. When your looking at the plants under lights, the purple doesnt seem as noticeable as the pics, possibly how my camera figures the white balance.
Just showing how you can have acceptable results with 55W per plant thats been veged for a month using ~12W each.
Cant wait to see how PPP and satori perform in dirt, i dont think SC99 likes my dirt, probably due to some recycling going on which needs to stop. PH is a mystery also, after reading up on buying a meter, i decided its not worth the effort with all the farking around with calibrating and replacing tips/sensors regulary. So its KISS for this black duck who is only feeding his own habbit.
I will update with better pics when the flowers are bigger.

Hear ya mate, i aint one much for dirt, but raise the odd seed in it just till it lifts its skirt and shows me the pussy, then clone and go from there. I have a few goin atm, Blue Satellite, Swiss Cheese, Chrystal and 2 Chemchunk x Zoidfuel in pots under 400 watts. In my garden i have 3 Chemchunk x Zoidfuel and 1 C99 x True Blueberry/White Russian going for my winter persy. Still waiting on cuttings to root and establish so i can crank up my pipe, i only need 6 but as usual i took 45, should get 6 of the best out of that lot :) ...

I am very impressed with them leds man, might look into getting a few for my 2nd room, cheap to run i bet and the results your getting there, you have sold me. Whats the cost ? Whats your next adventure, i mean what strains ?:tiphat:

I received some mandala seeds this week being Satori and Kalichakra and a wicked skunk mix from Sam the Skunkman as freebies. The different skunk types listed here.
The LEDs are cheap to run but farking dear to buy initially. I paid about $450 each for my 126W/1W and about $600 each for two 3W versions.
Looks like the lenses have changed recently by those pics. Hopefully to improve the footprint which is restricted by using the 60degree lenses.
The results for dirt grown flowers are pretty good for a newb grower like me, the results for hydro would be excellent imo.
I have 5 satoris about 2 inches high, 3 ppp about 6 inches, 2 SC99 about 8 inches readying for flip. There are also 8 SC99 in various stage of flower. I will wait for bit of veg space to become available before i start popping some skunks, they will be a lot of fun. If i had the room id setup another flower room, but best not be too greedy while patiently waiting for flowers to ripen. I will take some close-up pics tonight of some SC99, the trich developement is excellent with these LEDs. Using the 3W lights i noticed they produced the most triches easily compared to the 1W, maybe due to doubling of the far-red diodes, not sure though. Pics to come :gday:

As soon as the price drops many will get these to grow with. Right now the initial cost is to high.

Yeah SC99 Bundy, time to fatten them up with some molasses now in the last 2 or 3 weeks of flower. The yellowing is a result of my soil and PH drama with my tap water i think, time to make another mix of soil.
I agree hammerhead, pitty atm the price of quality diodes are driving the price of decent lights.

hey Clowd was wondering if u could spear me in the direction of reasonably priced LED suitable for vegging 6 plants for 6 weeks. ive looked at one called a "Hendrix UFO" with 50, 1watt diodes.
thnx man

Heya benjuanman, i too would like to know where to find decent performing LEDs at a reasonable price. :)
I cant recommend anything other than what im using becuase it works. There are two other lights being used on IC that are getting great results, check "Addicted2grow" using a PowerLED, and another from LED from sweden iirc, both in the same price range as the HGL i use.
The horror stories about woefull results in flowering from LEDs are true. There are a lot of LED grow light producers around nowadays so its a minefield when buying into the LED solution. To buy a LED simply on price is a huge gamble unless you can see the results through forums like this or know someone that is getting consistant results.
The "hendrix" 50w/1w will not give you enough strenght or coverage to veg 6 for 6weeks. No 50w will! You will most probably require at least 2 lights or one very expensive one :)

Hey thanks auto guerilla, good to see some fellow UFO users :tiphat:

We know the ebay ufos lack a lot of spectrum required for good flowers, the light strenght seems strong enough and they veg really good, so I think the T5s complement ebay UFos well and help fill the missing spectrum but not quite enough strenght or correct ratio but as long as your producing smoko mate, its all good! :dance013:
heh, i think the LED haters have diminished as the results keep stacking up, there are a few good grows posted here on IC now. The main hurdle for most is price, hopefully that will come down over time. Maybe to cost power will one day force people to use half the power to produce bud :)

seeing your grow has made me go and buy a '240w 3w diode 6 band blackstar' led light. just waiting for it now. i'm guessing the quality of my grow will skyrocket for less wattage consumption. thanks clowd

Hey good one AG!
Hope to see some results posted in the near future. You should at least triple your yield compared to the ufo if the blackstar performs well. They claim to be on their 9th generation of LEDs so hopefully their r&d is accurate.
Got any girls ready for flowering?

Heres a couple of SC99 pics from the cab which is down to 3 girls due to chopping one at day 52. The buds shown are at day 58 and the 2 girls on the right are about 10 days behind them. Hoping to get them all into the obese catagory within another week if the dreaded PM stays away.

Heya Afrosheep baa :tiphat:
The lights are going good, but my gardening skills need some improvement heh
New mix of soil being made today, hopefully should help improve yield by avoiding lockouts like im seeing with some sc99 grows.

I will update with pics in a week and see how much of a big fat pig i can turn some of these buds into. :)

What a killer thread! I use a couple of HG LED's myself. I have a 205 watt version and a 126 watt version for vegging. I've been very happy with them and I'm glad you've taken the time to show off your LED buds! I used to flower under HPS's but have found the LED's to be very impressive.

Just curious, how much dead space do you have between the tops of your plants & the LED fixtures? Do the fixtures hang in a stationary position or are they moved up & down as the plants grow?

Hi BSR, glad you like my thread :tiphat:
Its a work in progress, im hoping for many updates to come. To answer your question,
the 126w 1w version is hung about 8-12" above and the pro lights about 14" at this stage, still experimenting with those. They are stationary, but sometimes i spin my pots.:)
How i hang them varies on how much space i have. When my cab has only 3 plants I like to hang them near vertical towards end of flowering about 8" away and pointing in from each side. The plants are saturated in light and helps a lot i think, thats the beauty of having two LEDs i guess.
It would be good if you could try something similar with your 126 while the 205 hovers above or even near vertical as well. I see you just put your 126 into the veg room, those plants will go crazy with that above them compared to your t5s.
Have you got anything under your 205 atm?

this bad boy seems to be sparking some interest from me now.. along with the heath robinson flooded tube vertical...

good to see the leds fighting on!! have always been a fan!

where online, can you find prices for the Led's themselves? i'm keen to have a crack at making something as 1500 for that vertical one is a weee bit steep.
Avoid the pitfalls of playing with LEDs and buy the best you can afford thats in the market, its cheaper believe me.
