Wow, I'm inspired! Nice work Durdy! :yummy:
I was expecting a little "window farm", (which is another project I'd like to take on...)
I'm really looking forward to getting a veggie garden going this spring...lots yet to do to prepare!
Thanks for the added inspiration and motivation!!

I just chopped some more broccoli and pea tenderals today, sauted them in garlic and sesame oil.......dank!

Yea i can't wait for the spring time to roll around either, my schedual goes from 40 hours of a school a week to 6 hours a week so I'll have much more time for my gardens!

I'm gonna try to sustain me and my family as much as possible this summer! rippin up the back lawn and going nuts with veggies! mwahahahahahha :)

WOW ur peas are nicceee they really took off. i got myself a alaskan snow pea plant as well, just got jealous = ) got a blueberry plant yesterday and some onion plants. ill take another pic of my garden everythings growing slowly. wish i had full sun. come summertime ill be set.

I also seperated and replanted some onions i left in the ground from the last harvest. Each bulb will split into two or three onions depending on how small and you can replant em. hopefully i get a good onion harvest. once i free up some space ima go buy tons of onion starts. After my last harvest im all about growing onions. its super easy with a good draining soil. all my FFOF recycled in my garden is perfect.

I still think artichokes are vicious everytime i tear into one. Wild chokes are terrible man. take gloves and harvest seeds from dead pods of past season. they should all be starting to veg right now.

surprisingly my chokes are beggining to produce. So as soon as i see some wild one ready to harvest ill let you know how it goes. if it works out well you better believe ima harvest boxloads and freeze the hearts. If there are only a few in your area leave some artichokes to bloom for seeds next year.

i have lots of used coco (once /canna good flush/enzymes) and i bought a bale of ss#4 natural organic, i was gonna mix those up. we have a huge deck south facing all day sun. never grown em but we love em - :muahaha:

Pardon my french, but what the fuck is a whirlygig? PICK THOSE PEAS DURDY! id go nuts if i had that many. i keep picking em off the bush as they come and eat them while I work.

Heres what it looks like now.

come a long way since the last photos eh? planted some favas today, a serrano pepper, and a carribean hot. I have some thai heirloom seedlings i started that i will put out soon and also i bought a peanut plant, that i forgot to transplant today lol, so that will get done soon.

Been eating peas for days! :) little bit of soy sauce, some garlic, some salt, saute = dank but right off the plant is probably my favorite!

Gardens coming along great catcher! those beats got me salivating!

I need to find out if i can grow tobacco in my area, I'd be stoked to have some homegrown baco for spliffs!

haha I just got a huge pile of dirt delivered in the back yard, its 50/50 dirt and mushroom compost, you can smell it down the block! Lots of back breaking labor to do this weekend, couldn't be more excited hehehe

those are actually turnips that did surprisingly well, they aint much different when roasted tho .my beets are tiny = (

I wish i bought two snow pea bushes. Once i pull out those cabbage and bussels the beets will get more light and take off. I really wish i had full sun, but im not complaining.

What state is obsurity in? if you can grow bud there you sure as hell can grow tobacco. Id say its far easier to grow than mj but drying and curing takes months. where are you can have some nice bud to smoke in 3 to 4 weeks from cut.

A local hydro store has plenty of plants and they give them away to interested folk, theyre illegal to sell. seeds are fine to sell.

Yea I can definitely grow Tobacco then! I'll have to get pics of the outdoor ganja garden up soon, everything is still inside at the moment but theres one beast whose already 2 feet tall and two feet wide whose gonna go nuts when she gets put outside into her new 100 gal :)

And sorry about the mix up, those turnips look delicious haha.

Finally got around to making a compost bin!! Got something shipped here in a crate and thought to myself wow that will be perfect!!! It's gonna get wrapped in chicken wire and I figure the cardboard will decompose eventually.

Starting a new project! It's gonna be an all organic / sustainable living soil type of thang :)

Dug a hole to loosen up the soil (needed a pick axe it was so compact and hard!)

picture.php

A big hole :)

picture.php

5gal bucket for reference size

I'm gonna line the bottom of the hole with chicken wire

I have some soil leftover from my 100 gal pots in the greenhouse thats going in the hole, then the soil I dug out will go on top of that

I'm going to amend the soil with the 3 little birds recipe (unless someone has a better suggestion?)

10 parts soil
1 part alfalfa meal
1 part bone meal
1 part kelp meal
1 part powdered dolomite lime
3 parts EWC
1 part greensand
1 part rock phosphate
1 part diatamaceous earth

Think I shall till the soil once all is in place, or buy some kinda soil mixer to mix the goods?

Then I'm going to make mounded rows and get some late season tomatoes and corn started. Then as fall starts to come along the usual winter things will be added.

Suggestions? Comments? Snarky Remarks?

PS will also be adding a healthy amount of vermiculite to the mix as I have a BUNCH leftover from the new stove (was used as insulation for said stove)
