Tea with No Sock? Just dump them in?

What is with the sock anyway? What is wrong with just dumping in the EWC and compost guano whatev, and letting it dissolve and/or muck up the water, then just pour it in with the tea?

I always thought the sock was supposed to stop organic material from being sucked into your pump. You could probably get away with throwing the organic material into an old pantyhose or something though.

my wife doesnt wear them. and i dont have a water pump, just an air pump and air stone.

also, are you always supposed to dilute the tea? with foliar spray too? before you use it?

some of the messes i've seen (in organic soil) didn't look like he used a sock cause it bubbled out black shit all over his floor. i do have old socks tho. just not nylons. here's the pic:

btw, i have just started tea for the first time: 3 gals of water in a 5 gal bucket, about a cup each of 8yr old dairy cow compost and ewc, 5ml/gal of liquid karma 15ml/gal of kelp extract, 1+ teaspoon/gal of molassis, 5ml/gal budswel (only batshit i got) liquid. i ph'd it with 5ml total of AN ph up. yes, it takes only 5ml of ph up (AN brand only) to neutralize 45mls of seaweed extract. if you use ph up, AN is the only way to go.
so now what? got it bubbling for a couple days. dilute it 1 cup per gallon to feed? same for foliar?
i found a pair of leotards, got the crap in a leg of that. but back to original question, was that necessary?

DING! :good:

P.S. I don't bother with filtering out the particulates when I grow in soil and hand water. Just pour it all in -water, poo, kelp, rock powder, molasses, oat meal, alfalfa, whatever... all of it.

sorry for the bump, but....

my tea seemed hotter than 80, but my heater thermostat was set at 72F. i got great bubbling at two and three days. Then, i used about a half a gallon (plants like it) so then i added 1/2 gal more water and havent seen my bubbles come back, even tho i added some carbo-load instead of molasses. the water i added was in the fish tank for over a day, so no chlorine.
put in three dandelion flowers and stems too a couple days back and 2 Tbs of oatmeal too. the instant kind with sugar in it from quaker oats. i just threw in a handful of Happy Frog for bacteria a minute ago..... what am i missing for fermentation?

i've had a good aquarium air stone in there from the start.

I JUST read CTMAN'S sticky and he said keep the temps at 65-70, so down goes my heater thermostat. it bottoms out at 68F. sit and wait.
